someone told me the brain stops working or something while u sleep i knew it wasent true just thought i would ask this dumb question lol

You have voluntary and involuntary muscles. You don't have to think about your stomach, liver, heart, lungs, etc. working, those are "involuntary" functions. Those continue to work and keep you necessary body functions working while you sleep.

Hopefully you will look this bk up. You're a race horse for azb - and we are here having to re[program you brain.??? Pleasure of small Motions Bob Fancher MD>!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's the brain bone that makes it all work proper. In the morning your brain bone will wake you up,,or you would die.

Females do not have a brain bone,,,they are soft in that area. And they can go several weeks with out being woke up by the brain bone,,,but if any longer that that,,,they will die too.

It is,,,just the way it is!!!

Actually, I was told it was a bit different than that. All babies are born male but when the doctor delivers the spank on the bottom to get the lungs going, the dicks drop off of the dumb ones. This is not necessarily my own opinion, just passing along what I heard from several reputable sources.

The brain does not "stop working" during sleep. As you fall asleep, your brain progresses through several stages. During the "deepest" stage, REM sleep, your brain shows activity that is very similar to the sort of activity that occurs during wakefulness. So no, your brain does not stop working. The exact signaling involved in sleep and wakefulness is still under investigation but seems to involve large-scale cyclical changes in the patterns of groups of neurons in the brain, mediated through hormones like melatonin and neurotransmitters such as seratonin.

The exact function of sleep is not known as well. In addition to being restorative, it also seems to be involved in certain kinds of learning. As far as pool goes, sleep seems to be involved in consolidating new motor learning information. If you learn a new bit of information relating to your stroke, sleeping on it will help it become part ofyour game.

The brain is always "on". More for some than others. There is a black market for brains and it turns out by coincidence that the brain of a pool player is worth quite a bit more than regular brains. The reason is simply that the pool player's brain doesn't have as many miles on it from non-use and commands a premium.

Watch out when you go to sleep in strange places. You might wake up in a bath tub full of ice with a gauze wrap around your head!

Best,
Mike

The life of the brain at night is often more interesting then in the daytime.

I have known many flakes of both genders but have also been honored to know some women who's minds were truly beyond words to describe. A great mind goes way beyond its gender and becomes a universe of beauty.

It was an honor to know them just as it is a great tragedy when they die. The question I would pose is - what happens to the mind that stops its process chemically, but is released as a lifeforce after death? Does it stop working then? How is it different then the "long sleep?"...

Brain?

DREAMS! They will save your life even if you can not remember them.
The brain never sleeps or turns off. If so you're dead. It just simply rests, while still fucntioning, but not up to full copacity. I know I must have mis-spelled that. My brain must be sleeping & all of this is a dream. I will wake up & be able to run out ALL of the time. I can't wait to wake up!

I've used that line before.

Hey Mike, know what you are saying, but that was no line on my part. I was thinking about some great people in my family who are no longer with us and shared my thoughts.

Ok, think about this. Up until several hundred years ago there were no mirrors. It was rare that we could actually see what we looked like, only maybe when looking into a clear pond. When the first mirrors were introduced, they frightened people, who thought they may be a portal to another dimension.

The early mirror makers were considered so valuable that countries would protect them from being kidnapped and also make sure they didn't escape to make a better deal elsewhere. The secrets for making mirrors were closely guarded and did not become common knowledge until a few hundred years ago.

Wonder what life was like when women didn't have mirrors?
