Question about the hit of Sniper tips?

I recently had a Sniper tip installed, and it has a weird plastic sounding hit to it.

My question is, will the weird sound of the hit change over time, or does anyone think that there may be something wrong with the tip itself (maybe an old no good tip, or what)?

Please share your experiences with the hit if the Sniper tip (if you liked it, and what the hit sounded like, and if that sound changed over a longer period of playing time of playing with the Sniper tip)?

I had the same problem when i first installed it. It was because it glazed over in less than 10 games. Played ok i guess i just didnt like the sound.
 
I recently purchased and had a Sniper tip installed on my cue and while I didn't have a problem with the sound of the tip, I felt it played much harder than my expectations based on it's advertised hardness. I don't know if it was just a random bad tip possibly, but it surprised me given the normal consistency of Tiger tips. I was very disappointed.
 
the snipers of today get hard after half way worn I have installed many of these tips for years for people

kind of feels like there's a pice of plastic under the leather right? that's what mine felt like so i got rid of it. really felt cheap and didn't grip the cb well at all. the few i've tried that weren't like that were way too mushy for me. i can't believe people play with those things for so many months to get them to break in so they can finally play like crap
 
Sounds like it may be delaminating......when there is too much heat built up the glue between the layers can loosen up.......this is caused by a dull cutter, too much upward pressure when trimming or too much heat build up when sanding.....I have had this happen with snipers but what I have learned you have to use a concave center with some pressure on the tip and wet the tip edges then make the cuts.....this helps tremendously, I would talk to your repair person
