When you break, where would you like the 8-ball to end up, besides in a pocket if you're playing 8 on the break's a win. Would it be near a side pocket, the corner pockets where you rack, or the corners behind the head string? And why? Assuming you made a ball on the break and can continue your turn at the table. This would be on a bar box.

Hmm...I'd like the 8-ball to be somewhere it's not tied up nor tying up any other balls. Now that I think about it, if it's my shot, I want ALL the balls not to be tied up. Asking for more than that would be greedy.

I, personally, don't care where the 8-ball ends up. But then again, I don't try to move it, just break up the rack so I can pick it apart.

You only need one correct answer.

LMAO that what I was thinking... but actually after a little thought, I kinda like it in front of a side pocket.. that way it's less likely in-the-way of a run (on a barbox) and then when you get on it you can play shape for a side-pocket shot or one of the same-side corner pockets.

I'll tell ya the best situation, in my eyes, of how I'd like to 8 to sit.

Near a corner pocket, close to the rail, with enough room for a ball to go in the corner, but not enough room for a ball to go by on the rail. THEN, I'd like 1 or 2 of my opponents balls to be on that same rail between the side pocket and the 8 ball. Also, leave enough room for me to be able to pocket the 8 ball.

This scenario gives me the best options to win the game. Either by run out, by playing safe or if I missed a ball (That never happens, right?)

I'll try and do a cuetable to show exactly what I mean.

AS long as it is not tied up or on the rail close to the side pocket

Out of the effing way! Especially on a barbox.

I agree with this, every layout is new and different which is what makes pool such a great game.

Of course a close runner up would be hanging in the corner pocket given the correct circumstances. :D

Hey, that's my standard break! (Except the 3 ball doesn't go in).

This is what I was thinking. And is pretty realistic.

If you are high balls play the cb off the 13 and put it behind the 11,if you can get a ball in hand you can play a ball off the 8 and move it.If you have solids then there is no problems
