Question for B. Jewett on VEPP

And then there was the well-known pro who saw my mark and went up to the tournament director to ask whether the mark was legal or if my stick was banned.
 
When you first posted this information, I wondered if you experienced someone questioning that.

BTW, do you still use this method?
I still play with the mark up when available. Sometimes if I'm lazy about chalking (or in a hurry) and repeating the same shot, I'll simply rotate the cue to where the chalk has not been used yet. The mark lets me know where that is.
