Question for Danny Harriman About a Nickname

Hello, Danny. I noticed in another thread that you called yourself "The Springfield Rifle." I'm curious how long you've had that nickname and how you got it -- did you choose it yourself or did someone else begin calling you that?

It's a great moniker for anyone who shoots as straight as you do and hails from a town named Springfield.

But are you aware that another pretty fair pool player also had that nickname --Jimmy Relihan from Springfield, Massachusetts. He was a fine player in New England a few decades ago. "Springfield" and "Rifle" went together so well because Springfield, MA was the site of the Springfield Armory, that made weaponry for the federal government from the late 1700's until it was closed by the Defense Department in 1968.

Just wondering if you were aware of this history.

And if anyone else knows anything about Jimmy Relihan in the last few decades, I'd appreciate hearing about that, too. Thanks.

I once seen Danny at Shooters in KS firing one bank shot after another .
To this day I have never seen anything like it I mean he looked like a machine running full rack banks . I think his nick name should have been The Springfield Banker !!! I was lucky enough to meet Danny and talk to him for a few moments . Ill never forget the way he fired them banks in :thumbup2:

There are only so many nicknames to go around and there is inevitable redundancy. One should consider sharing a pool nickname with Danny Harriman an honor...not a detraction.
