You I know there has been a bunch of THREADS already about CTE, but I would hope this one is not hi jacked, and will only deal with how to use CTE, and factor in English. If any of you or Dr. Dave has any idea please help. Like I have said before, and will say again CTE IMHO is the real deal.

CTE and most other "aiming systems" help you determine the line of aim to the ideal ghost-ball target. They don't usually take into account cut-induced throw (CIT). And they usually don't compensate for squirt, swerve, and throw when using English. FYI, I have lots of info and resources dealing with aim compensation when using English here:

This is not a simple topic, and there are no simple "systems" that will have perfect results. Many people learn to compensate instinctively (by "feel") through years and years of practice; but I think learning can be faster, and success can be better and more consistent, if one has an understanding of all of the squirt, swerve, and throw effects and trends. FYI, I have a complete summary of the effects, along with learning resources, here:

Regards,
Dave

Thank Dave you are the Pool man.

Not a CTE user but

I have read backhand english is the perfect compliment. Seems logical, being that you can adjust for english after your CTE pivot. As long as you don't get so confused with all that pivoting you make a pokey stroke.

If you aim cte and pivot to the right, you creat a cut to the pocket and english on the cue.
If yuo raise the stick you get right hand running english. If you lower the stick you get right hand draw with right hand englsh.

The english on the cue does not change the shot in any way...
