I am planning to order a Pro-am 9' Diamond Table. I have some questions in mind. Can someone help me here?

1. Is it possible to ask for smaller pocket size than pro cut? 4.25" or 4".

2. Can Diamond deliver a table without assembly? I am going to put the table in basement. There is no way to go through stair with assembled table

Thank you in advance.

Captain Obvious here, have you considered calling Diamond and asking them? :)

1. Yes...you can have pocket size customized.

2. I am sure you can request the table to be delivered in any stage of assembly. I would call Brian at Diamond and talk with him about this. However, I am fairly sure Pro Am tables come standard with 1 piece slate (Mine did). And depending how constricted the stairwell space is would lead me to looking at the Professional as opposed to the Pro Am unless ball return is a huge buying factor.

I would take some measurements and call Diamond to discuss to help.

they deliver tables assembled?

The Pro Am table comes fully assembled and covered secured to a dolly on it's side ready to roll into place where it's flipped right side up then leveled. Assembly and cloth installation is done at the factory. It's pretty cool!

that is pretty cool
that's also the model I was eyeballing
good to know

If accessibility to your basement leaves some questions, then I would strongly consider the Diamond Pro table with three piece slate over the Pro Am. I've got the pro table w/ 3 slates and it plays just like the pro am. I also favor the drop pockets over the ball return.

The dymondwood rails are worth it also, IMO.

Lastly, just curious as to why you would want pockets that small, given Diamond's deep pocket shelves. It would seriously inhibit games of banks and straight pool. Hell, I think it takes away from the rotation based games too, but that's just me.

I have a 7 foot Pro Am, and the clearance to get into my basement was very tight. I had a 3 piece slate delivered as a 'Full Knockdown'.

Then Jay Spielberg and his crew finagled it into the basement and put it all together - so it's possible.

When discussing the table move with the Diamond crew at the Turning Stone, I was told they have three-piece slates now that are joined with a specific system making them effectively one-piece slates and leveled just as a one-piece slate would. This would make it possible to get a diamond pro-am delivered and assembled in your basement.

I asked for league cut, 4.75" pockets, they said it would be another $400 over standard procut pockets. I'll just stick with procuts then.

I believe diamond has a program for 4-1/8 pockets..... As far as I know they offer 4-1/8,4-1/2,4-3/4.
Production is CNC and molding machine.

You are correct on the table to get if there is any question. My pro has not changed a bit since RKC set it up in 2008. There is a room in Denver that have Diamonds that are tighter then 4.5" and have been labeled as "stupid tight" by some very strong players in the area.
