Question to Justis Pro-Lite Case Owners

If you are the owner of a Justis Pro Lite, I would like to know what options you wish you would have ordered, or not order. I am hoping to have the money real soon to order a new case, and am thinking a 2 x 4, or 3 x 6 but can not decide.

I know I want 16” pocket, but not sure about a 16 & 8 inch pockets, or protection band.

Do want a Shoulder pad and am think of my initials on it. Not sure about the bottom protection band, or diamonds, and tooling options.

I don't own one, but I can tell you from personal experience of 45 yrs of playing that the 3 x 6 would be a better choice than a 2 x 4 if you are a serious player. I have had a 4 x 8 before loaded, and have come back to a 3 x 5 size which seems to be the right size for me.

I carry 2 break/jump stick shafts with my break cue. And if you have 2 shafts for your playing cue normally. So, if you happen to buy a cue somewhere while playing or if you just want another shaft like a 314 or X shaft, then you have room for it.

Especially if you are going to buy a real good case like Justis, I sure would want it to have a little more room rather than having it be too small 8 months down the road.

Don't skimp on the pockets, get the 8 and 16" both. I know serious players that originally got a good 2 x 4, and had to buy additional cases later to hold 'extra' cues they accumulated.

I don't have a Pro Lite, yet, but I do have a Justis case.

I think the options you mentioned are personal choices.
IMHO, I would go for the 3 x 6, but when loaded, it will still be heavy. It is the contents that makes the case heavy, not necessarily the case.

I think that both the 16" and 8" pockets are a must. It is amazing how fast you will fill them up.

The shoulder pad is a must, if you carry your case on your shoulder. It makes it much more comfortable.

All of the other things you mentioned are cosmetic and more personal choices.

Is there such choice? I know I have a 3/6 that functions as a 4/8 if needed. I was not sure if he made a case with a smaller footprint. Find Jack's handle and look at his previous comments- he posted pictures of the interior.

I carry 2/4 sometimes in mine, sometimes 3/6 sometimes even 4/8 or 4/7.

I have the 2x4; got rid of a break cue and a jump cue, replaced them with a jump/break cue - so the 2x4 has plenty of room now. BilliardBum has a 3x6, and it seems pretty reasonable to carry, but I do like the sleekness of the smaller case.

I think you want the maximum pocket space possible. They are somewhat narrow, and a little difficult to access (made that way on PURPOSE, so they will last "forever").

Shoulder pad is great, you definitely want it; and you definitely want to put a design or monogram on it.

The diamonds are nice; small investment for a long period of use.

The tooling of the leather is very nice and elegant; highly recommended.

The bottom protection band I can do without. It doesn't add to the look of the case (?maybe detracts?). Just TAKE CARE OF YOUR STUFF; don't drag the case around, or use it like a crutch and you will be fine.

I was thinking of getting a "stripped down" version; but my wife talked me out of it - the options are nice, not that tremendously expensive individually; and if you trick out your case, it will give you a lifetime of pleasure - well worth the cost - INDULGE YOURSELF; it's still cheaper than a cue.

I have an "older" Justis 3x6. As far as the "must have's", definately get the extra pouches. Also, you may want to think about getting your name putt on it since Jack would need to disassemble the case to do it after the fact.

Personally, I would have liked a 2x4 instead of my 3x6. I don't carry a 3rd cue since I swithed to a jump/break combo. A 2x4 is thinner and a little lighter, it's a little easier to hump it all day long.

Eric, you know I love your case , but I too have considered getting a 2x4 instead of the 3x6. However, I like the fact that the 3x6 will stand up by itself, even with the cues assembled and sticking out of the top. I don't know if I'm ready to give that up.

How NARROW is Somewhat Narrow, also how Thick/Deep are the pockets?

I have a pro-lite 2x4 and I typically carry 1 playing cue, 1 j/b and a jump butt and shaft. The jump butt fits snugly down beside the j/b. I do recommend both pockets as they are not extremely large or flexible. I think it is hard to go wrong with one of Jack's cases no matter which configuration you choose.

How do you carry the case on your left shoulder?

I love everything about the case but the lack of choice in getting the shoulder strap on the other side on the case.

I like to carry the case on the left shoulder (as my right shoulder is significantly lower than my left and whatever straps I put on the right shoulder tends to slip off - bent spine).

I have a tubed Justis case but if I carry on the left shoulder, the pockets face my back and it's not comfortable or I will "crush" the top pocket.

Talk to Jack. I'm sure he could make you a case with the strap on the other side with no major problems. Give him a call.

A Justis should last most players a Lifetime, do the 3 x 6, with both pockets...I am missing mine and wished I had not sold it... But I also wish it was a 3 x 6....

Never thought of it. I am a right shoulder carrier. I hand carry with handle though on left.

Food for thought ...

If carrying your case wears on your shoulder, making your top muscles tight, it is better for it to be on your bridge side rather than your grip side. A sore
tightened muscle on your grip side will be felt with each stroke, and will affect your break. Especially if you are at a big tournament for days, like in Vegas.....

If you want to use your left sholder to carry the case, try this method. I find it very comfortable and the pocket is not digging into your back.
