Questions about my Lambros cue...

Hi folks,

I acquired my cue two years ago, back when I was just starting to play more regularly. I got it off of eBay, buying it somewhat blindly (price around $700), and hoping it'd feel right when I finally got it. It did.

It's the best cue I've owned by far in terms of how it plays. I've done research on Mike Lambros' site and elsewhere on the internet, but the most I've been able to discover is a *vague* timeframe in which it might've been made. Have no clue about other traits of the cue, what it's worth, etc. Tried writing Mr. Lambros, but no response yet...

Anyone familiar with these cues - could you tell me more about mine? And if you have any care tips, those would be appreciated, too. Thanks in advance.

Lambros

I got this leaflet at Valley Forge in 1995.
The first one, other than the stain on the maple, looks like yours.

Lambros Cue

My guess would be that the cue was made around 1995 96, the logo changed shortly after that to include the date. This cue doesn't have Mikes "Ultra Joint" which makes this cue less desirable should you try to sell it. I would think you'd get about $500.00 for it, if you found the right person.
Just my .02

Nice! It sure does look like mine.

Thanks for the info.

That looks like one of his older ones before he did the piloted joint.

Yeah - looks like it. For those who have one with a piloted "Ultra Joint", how differently do they feel?

Any of Mikes cue's are nice, the ultra joint is just in a class of it's own.

I own 3 of them used to have 6. I build my own cue's now, but Mike is my main inspiration.

Best cuemaker alive in my opinion.

Cool - but why is that? What makes the ultra joint so special?

I'm pretty happy with this cue, but I'm still curious...

If You really like playing pool ,
Somehow see if You can try an Ultra-joint cue"
Hit with it for about 1/2 hour ...
" Do a search here in the gallery of Lambros...
ALOT of really good things have been stated .

Great post!

I believe that Mr Zinzola would agree with your statement also. His long points are quite similar to Mike's. Not that Mike invented the long points, just something he has done for some time..

I'd like to do this. But I haven't been able to find anyone else with a Lambros cue where I live.

When people ask me the make of mine, they usually have the same response: "Huh?"
