Questions?? How many Cue Shafts do you have for one carom butt?

Did you get the conical joint (does Thierry make em any other way)?

Yeah, pics.
Yes, I purchased it in a group cue buy. This is the first Layoni I've ever had. It is rather stunning to say the least.

Never have to worry about the face being off

Of the 2 longoni cues I bought neither rolls straight
Face issue easy fix
but you can expect some kind of issue when you ship cues from Italy to the us in nothing more than a thin cardboard box with window cut outs and absolute no other protection

This one is absolutely Lazer straight.
I personally always pack up a cue in very sturdy boxes with plenty of bubble.

Nice looking cue!

I never liked the 'Joint Configuration'!
My experience in the machine tool industry, I always thought this design was far superior than simply a piloted joint, like the old Hoppe cue design or even Schuler or... can't think of the other guy that used to make carom cues but seems to have quit with an advanced and very nice tight tolerance construction.

At any rate, when Layani used to post here, he explained that he added a pin/screw, cause he found out his customers at times couldn't separate or his cues, so he added a jack screw to easily get it done. That's the only reason for the pin/screw. (my opinion)

Sure wish I could hit a couple of shots with one of his cues someday.

Too old to buy, but sure wish I could take a shot/

I've hit shots with one before, no big deal!

The joint seemed to 'slip/not stay tightened' always!

That may have been an early version? The added pin may help with that issue.
I only remember him talking about how hard it was to separate the parts. Don't remember him talking about the joint coming loose.

If he could keep his tolerances to spec along the lines of a Morse Taper, he wouldn't have a problem with separation.
But he found that separation was a problem when you wanted to bag the cue and leave the pool hall, therefore the screw/pin/jack screw.

I was in Burbank in 2012, that's when I tried one. The shaft in was a little in weak also for me.

If I may ask, What does that mean? this is a conical tapered rock maple and very stiff. Was it the same type?
The cue I tested was 11.7mm at the tip, too small for me which made it feel a little weak for 'my' game.

I've been playing with 12mm for 3C for 50 years!
