going this year for the first time, what nice cues will i be able to pick up for a good price? are we talking wholesale price or cheaper than wholesale or just less than retail. was looking for a nice breakcue, any suggestions?

You can pick up just about anything from $50-15000. Pretty good prices on the production stuff. As for custom cues, you can get a decent deal, but the main thing you get is an awesome variety of cues. Cash is king, so you can expect a real good price on a cue if you look to purchase straight out with no trade.

I would suggest that you check out the stuff that is available during the week, but then get serious on that last Saturday. There have been some GREAT deals on stuff as vendor begin to pack up their wares and get ready to leave. Some vendors will make some terrific prices on cues, cases, etc.
 
Many private parties sell cues there. Sometimes out of desperation. That's when you can get a great deal, like .50 cents on the dollar.

Jay, as someone posted on another thread, it's hard to find a better cue deal than you can get from a broke pool player. Sad but true.
