Quick few beginner questions

Hi guys and girls

Coming in from perh Western Australia here and I'm currently building my house at the moment and have a few questions, firstly my room is 6x5 meters and was wondering if I get an eight foot table will I still have enough room to throw darts and have a small table and bar stools in a corner?

Also with a new house and poolt able comes a new cue right? So this will be my first cue and I have narrowed it down to either the poison bolt 4 $180 or the fury ag-104 $299... I know the price difference is there but is there much between these cues, fury offers lifetime warp cover where poison don't...

As I'm new to this stuff after never been in a comp or anything I usually just play at pubs casually can anyone inform me if I'm on the right track or even give some tips while I'm building to improve my room

You will have enough room for the 8' table, but not much for a bar and table. You have aprox, 19.5' X 16' I believe.

As far as the new cue, I would buy a few 1 piece cues of various weights first for your guests. Then you try them all out and see which feels right. As far as the brand, everyone feel cues different. I wouldn't rust into the buying the cue. Hope this helps. Welcome to AZB forum. Johnnyt
 
You'll have enough room for the darts and all with an 8ft. I would go 9ft though because you have the space. Cues - just get a good solid cue that you feel comfortable playing with regularly.
 
Are you buying an english style pool table, which is what I assume you have come across in bars there, or a US table?

If it's the english pool table with rounded pockets and 2 inch balls, the US pool cues won't be suitable.

I don't think any lifetime warranty or warp coverage should be a deciding factor when purchasing a cue.

For really cheap cues for house guests, I would get a $40USD McDermott Lucky cue and put a descent tip (say, Everest $10) on it.

If you don't have much experience about cue preference, then the Player HXT series in the $150 range would be my top choice for now.
