Quitecoolguy needs some help

By the way, I agree with those who pontificate about letting your child learn to sleep through noise. My daughter, when she was little, could sleep through a huricane!

But you don't need to add more noise!!

Good luck,

Russ....

Suspended acoustic tile ceiling; then roll out batts of thick fiberglass insulation on top of the suspended ceiling.

Apply sound-deadening mats to upstairs floors. These can be applied under carpeting and come with or without built in carpet padding.

works for me

i have to sleep in the evenings, getting up at 2230pm, 1245 am and 0115 am. with two small girls in the house. i have a machine making background noise-drowns out most other noises to the point where i sleep well. of course i do do the earplugs as well because i absolutely have to get good rest- i drive a semi and i am not going to drive sleepy!

Background ambient stereo sound in the bedrooms can help override the sounds from other areas of the house, like the basement below. If you have ever listened to a CD with the waves crashing, or forest sounds, etc , it can be sooothing background that some people find relaxing and even helps them sleep. Just a thought and cheap to try.

If the white noise commments were related to my two posts:

Excuse me if it is being construed that I am an advocate of the white noise, I merely stated that it was in addition to the building materials that I used, and was a "left over from my daughter's colicky days"

I wish I had been more concise in my statement that the materials that I used were more than adequate to muffle the sounds of playing pool while my daughter sleeps.

I was not advocating any parenting practices, skills, or otherwise. I would certainly save that post for an Oprah or Dr. Phil forum, not here. I was merely trying to convey my situation, and offered a tangential comment.

Hell! You are the one who is going to be looking from a noise get-away!

Congrats on the upcoming baby. I am completely happy to hear your news!!!!

Funny what you said about shooting boys- my family was the same, now it is all girls for us- I have 2, 4 and 1month.

Blessings!!

Please, Don't make the thread about more noise.

I was kidding with my friend Quitecoolguy. Noise attenuators is what we are talking about. Some materials absorb noise. It dissipates the sound. There are several products made especially for this purpose. That is the only thing you can do. Or for those who love to create problems where none actually exist, I suggest you purchase a sound proof, expandable new born baby bubble with a food shoot and a straw. ;)
Peace be with you. Purdman :)
PS: Quitecoolguy, Congratulations on the the baby. I will be stripper fishing at Lake Anna some this week, what ya doing?
