Hello everyone.

I am wondering if any other cuemaker has ever made a Full Splice, NO WRAP 8 Point Cue???

Jerry is making one for me now and has been absolutely awesome to work with.

I vant wait to see the finished product, and hints as far as some of the details for the cue.

i have been itching to get a cue built, and i think i am gonna go with a -R- myself. i have alot of great things !

Good Luck
-Steve

The predator SP8RJ is a wrapless 8 point fullsplice.
Blanks have been offered before as well for conversion.

As far as a one-man shop making them from scratch for himself, I'm not sure.
Either way, it is a nice looking start to a cue I'm sure you'll enjoy.

Thanks for the input.

The details have yet to be finalized, but will be something like this.

59" overall length.
19.0 - 19.5 oz.
18 1/2" Balance Point
Flat faced Ivory Joint
Ivory Hoppe Ring
No Bumper
Simple double silver rings with Ivory
Maybe some very simple inlays.

Any input or thoughts would be appreciated.

This is Jerry's #1 - 8 Point FS cue, so I want it to be special.

Thanks...

just ordered #2

Ive been wanting a Jerry -r- for years now. This 8 pointer made me pull the trigger. Just got off the phone with him and ordered a monster. Awsome guy, made me a huge fan with just the conversation. Get one while he's wreckin shop!!!

I have had three people PM me about ordering a cue from Jerry.

Maybe I should hit him up about getting this cue for free in exchange for all the publicity??

Lolzzzzzzzzzz

Russ,

Very nice cue. I love the points.

I have several Predator full splice 8 point cues and they have four veneers on the tall points, but they only have two veneers on the shorty points. So, I don't think I've ever seen another custom builder make a full spliced 8 point cue with four veneers on all eight points. IMHO this is a first.

I talked with Mr. Jerry -R- last nite and again today. It's getting harder and harder for Jerry to get high quality materials at yesterday's pricing. He needs to raise his prices. His full spliced line of cues are to include:

One full spliced butt with Hoppe ring, stainless steel joint, stainless steel pin, 4 veneers (your choice of colors), (2) hard rock maple shafts with ivory 1" ferrules and Triangle tips, and slotted matching veneer ringwork on the joint and shaft. $1,500.00 This price increase takes affect January 1st, 2011.

His full spliced eight pointers with four veneers on all eight points are $2,000.00, again 1 full spliced butt with Hoppe ring, stainless steel joint, stainless steel pin, 4 veneers (your choice of colors on all eight points), (2) hard rock maple shafts with ivory 1" ferrules and Triangle tips, and slotted matching veneer ringwork on the joint and shaft.

If you want inlays, other materials for points, layered tips, or a different joint (ivory, etc.) these options are extra. Jerry is a joy to talk to AND work with on your cue exprience.

Hi John,

Thanks for your post and great information for anyone wanting a Jerry -R- Cue.

He is indeed a great guy to work with and easy to talk to.

I am really excited to get this cue from him!!

Take care,

AGAIN, THIS IS ANOTHER NICE CUE, BUT IMO IT'S NOT THE SAME AS THE ONE SHOWN IN THE PICS.

I agree though its still tuff to get all 4 points to line up trust me it way different than a short splice. ok than one of my next fullsplice cues will have to be an 8 point double veneer style. by the way nice job on that cue up there!

Thats a really neat cue also!!

The one that Jerry is building me has 4 venners.

I think that I will not do any inlays in it.

I want to keep it clean and simple.

:)

-R-'s points on BOTH ENDS are as sharp as any old early 1900's Brunswicks ever were.

I like the small bottom looks nice. I'm going to start doing them that way because It's more of a pain to miter them into a .125 bottom than it is at .020

Wow , was all this necessary. yes he does great work no dought. There is vary few people doing full splice stuff It's one big pain. I'm happy with what I'm doing ,you still have to miter the bottom weather it's .020 or .125 . I can do it either way I just choose to do it that way. by the way I've never seen a Duferin with veneers, thats just me. These miters look good to me , I did not have to cover it with a wrap.

i agree that was a bit harsh....

i actually like the "return points" boxed like that, rather then sharp...

nice work
