Here is a fresh one off the lathe from the Rauenzahn shop.Full splice 8 points high and low, Ebony into Tulipwood with veneers on all 16 points . This is only the second one Jerry has made like this and the only one with a wedge. Solid ivory joint with that sweet Rauenzahn hit. Jerry says the degree of difficulty is high with this cue and perhaps someone with cue building skills can explain why so everyone can appreciate the work that went into this cue.

Just awesome looking. Jerry is in a league of his own on that type of cue. World's best!

Beautiful cue Tommy....Tulipwood looks great when a nice piece is used.

The level of difficulty on these cues is such that its tough to even explain.

Basically you need a wealth of experience and then execute multiple functions as precise as possible only to wonder about how good you did until it comes time to turn it round. Keeping this many points remotely close to even is very, very difficult.

Dan, I LOVE that cue!!!! That's SPECTACULAR!!! I hope you don't mind me posting his first one on you thread. I am trying to show close-ups of -R-'s spectacular veneer work on his cues, there's virtually no glue lines or gaps of any kind. AMAZING !!!!!

Here's #1 without the ivory triangle. This one has Kingwood in between ebony. It also has a recessed ivory joint with a 5/16-14 SS pin. Jerry Rauenzahn said it took him a while to figure out the geometry to solve the points going both ways including the veneers. He certainly has mastered full-spliced construction.

Also, I wouldn't let this go for giggles or grins. Someone would need to understand it's VERY RARE!!!!

Jerry calls this construction a 288 model for giggles and grins. (>:
