Since the Kristi Carter thread has been closed, I thought I would take a moment to send my condolences to all members of the AZ forums who feel as though they have lost a valued member of their online community - JimBo.

He had a biting tongue wand a truly sarcastic wit, like so many of us do. He was more knowledgable about cues than 90% of the posters here. And while some thought his opinions were a little too harsh to be shared here, I for one (alongside many others) agreed with many of the things he said. I was NOT offended by half of the names he called people especially the ones he called me on several occassions. Sometimes, people need to learn to have thicker skin.

Now, I know what you're probably going to say: I wasn't offended by Jim's comment in the Kristy Carter thread because it wasn't directed at me so, my opinion on the matter is null and void. Well, according to Mr. Wilson, the questionable comment he made was directed at someone other than the individual who reported it. There, that posters opinion should also be null and void.

Anyway, Jim, if you're out there, I'll tip my glass back for you tonight and have a drink in your honor. You'll be missed buddy.

Liar. It's way more than 90%.

I would have like to have commented yesterday, but unfortunately the thread was shutdown before I could.

I will comment on something Chris Tate said about JimB. There is no Jeckyl & Hyde with Jim. If you listen to him speak, he speaks EXACTLY the way he types. There is no difference. He even misspells when he talks. But inflections and intonations aren't conveyed over black and white (or boldfaced purple and white, as it may be). Unlike many others, he's not some kind of internet monitor/keyboard warrior.

The reports of his demise are greatly exaggerated. LOL.

Maybe it's time to post in purple as a tribute LOL!

STOP CUE DESIGN THEFT ...... !!!!!!

Stop Jimbo theft..

Hurry back my friend, always loved his point of view weather he agreed with me or not, he was correct in his own sort of way

Joe

Well I am certainly going to miss Jimbo, too.

I'd like to see one of those government pardons for a few people. Let them all back except Larry. Let them all play within the commuinty for a trial period.
Sometimes, in the heat of the moment we all say things that we would like to reword. Sometimes are actions come from the heart not the brain. I'm just saying that all of us, everyone one of us has crossed that line where are fingers go crazy.
Can we just let everyone back in (except Larry) and give them another go round.
Rude dog, jimbo, and a few others were members that I read just everyone of their posts. (well not the long ones when jimbo would go on and on about a cue) but they are two names that we all know that read this board.
I liked what drivermaker had to say a lot of time as well, but anyway, Free the people free the people
Happy newyear all, I'm done till derby city.

same sentiments as with the deleted "Bargaining" thread in ATC

well, I'll copy my thoughts about this along with the newly deleted "Bargaining" thread under Ask the Cuemaker.....

This is utter nonsense !!!

Jazz,

There's ABSOLUTELY no need to apoligize for the thread. Only a dip$hit like Duke would think that you were calling him out, which was the farthest from the truth. That was an EXCELLENT TOPIC and WORTHY OF DISCUSSION with many different people's input...cuemakers, buyers, collectors, etc. We could have all LEARNED SOMETHING about the perceptions out in the market on this.

These threads getting pulled and how the Jimbo ban was handled is making me weigh in heavily on whether I will continue contribuing here. Not that I add a lot, but I would like to feel that some of my time spent here is helpful and worthwhile.

Personally, I think these recent events here are a joke.

IMO what's really sad in comparison is that a couple of world's best liars, cheats, and hatchetmen posted their foolishness on here using multiple IDs for the past few years, continually scamming people and threatening to ruin their business. That is a much greater problem here on these boards than Jim being his usual sometimes caustic, sometimes helpful, sometimes A-hole, but always honest self. Hey, none of us are perfect......

I am not sure and don't know or don't mean anything negative towards Jimbo but I think I saw somewhere that this was his 2nd time being banned. I have only been on here for a couple of months and enjoyed reading his posts. In my opinion the whole situation was silly and unnecessary. He will be missed.

He definitely spoke his mind, and didn't pull punches.
He was had very cogent posts that I personally enjoyed.
I will enjoy reading his posts when he comes back.

Hell he's called me a idiot once or twice and didn't think bad of him. Enjoy his posts more than most, and think as it appears most do that he shouldn't be banned at all.

I asked Mike awhile ago if disagreeing with Mr. Wilson was against the rules, and I was told no. I disagree with him on banning Jimbo. As Murray said, if your going to moderate then moderate, don't wait until things are out of hand to then just ban someone. Imho that isn't moderation.

A excerpt that I find wrong is here and in bold, and I quote
"People still don't understand that just as much has been said in private as in public and this is just *once* more he chose to dare fate."

the private part is what gets me, you as a user are not required to accept private messages from anyone. You don't have to read them, and there is a nice ignore feature in this software that works just fine. Mr. Wilson holds things against people for disagreeing with him, not liking his threats, sent in a private message that he doesn't have to read unless he wants to. To be banned for things like that, unless there is a threat of harm to you or your family is imho absurd. Disagreeing with someone in private, even calling them a idiot shouldn't be held against you in my opinion. Of course I haven't had a online fight with anyone since the 90's, but I did like it if someone wants to start one up.

Jimbo,

You always made me laugh and you've always been very supportive of me. I will be eagerly anticipating your return...

I tried to wade through that Kristi Carter thread to find your offensive posts, but couldn't locate any lol.

I find it almost impossible to read every thread here....and so did not get into the thread mentioned, and now I cannot see what the frackus was about!:(

JimBo and I had our moments, but that's a ways back, before I 'got' him. I found him to have an extremely dry wit...which often went over some's heads, but would send me rolling outta my chair in laughter. I think his banishment is unfortunate, and I hope he does come back once his sentence is over...'cuz, well, I'm gonna miss his posts until then.

Lisa...STOP JIMBO THEFT!! :D

Yeah, my fault entirely.
Very sorry, guys.

Thanks for the heads-up. That's good moderating! :)
