Radial vs G-10 pin?

What kind of hit difference do you feel between the two pins? Do they feel almost the same? I'm thinking about switching from my G10 to a radial, just looking for opinions.

g-10 is an epoxy glass and radial pins are a thread type. You can get a g-10 pins in most thread counts including "Radial".

One reason folks may have a preference for the G10 over steel, is the balance point of the cue. Steel tends to throw the balance point a bit forward, while G10 -- being the same weight or perhaps a bit lighter than wood -- keeps the balance point back, a rearward balance, so to speak. Carom players prefer a rearward balance in their cues, and that's why you'll see most (if not all) carom cues use a wood pin, or, when they're playing pool, a G10 pin.

Try this experiment. Go somewhere where you can try a a lot of cues. Have some one put a bunch of cues together and hit a few balls with them. After doing this try to determine what the pins are. You may be able to tell what cue feels the best to you but I really doubt if you can can feel the difference that a pin size or material is.

Or try a cue that has a certain pin and then try another group of cues and see if you can pick the cues that have that pin.
