Rafael Martinez / Efren Reyes 1-pckt. Challenge ...

I walked into The Jointed Cue (SacTown) this morning and found Rafael Martinez practicing on one of the Billiard Tables ... Within just a few minutes I counted over 20 straight completed carom shots (mostly very difficult) and he told me he was just messing around ...

We talked quite a while and I mentioned that I would really like to see him in an upcoming IPT Challenge ... He said that would be great and that he wanted to play Efren Reyes @ 1-Pocket with a 15 seconds shot clock ...

Now THAT is a Match I truly would not miss ... A 15 sec. shot clock would not phase Rafael, but Efren would surely be sweating ...

Hey there, you folks at IPT who put these things together, how about matching these two great players at "Speed" One-Pocket ...
 
No. Not a good idea.

Why do you want to watch Efren with his hands tied? I don't. I'd rather see him give Raffie 12-8 or wahtever Efren is spotting champs these days.

I think that's exactly what pool needs right now. Something new and refreshing to bring out the game of pool. Although I wouldn't want to see Efren Reyes play with a 15 second shot clock. You might as well make him play with one eye closed and one handed. Maybe getting Earl Strickland or Luc Salvas playing one pocket with a 15 second shot clock. Pool needs to do something... cause R-P-S is bringing the house down :(
 
He's on his way to Los Angeles for the One Pocket tourney July 4th weekend at Hollywood Billiards. I talked to him two days ago when he was still in Seattle.
 
Rafael is a fantastic player and would make things more interesting playing one-pocket with 10 balls and using the head rail pockets instead...lol!!! There are so many more things i could mention but you see where i'm goin with this right...=)

I agree, whats next he'll play efren if he only stands on one leg.

Just take the spot
 
Why not match him up with Schmidt......should be no prob getting the money together!

Are you talking about Your Money or are you volunteering someone else's money ?
