Freddy,

How did Joey play compared to Gary.

I watched Gary play and he was pretty impressive.....

Ken
(from Terre Haute)

Joey played all games better except Banks. Not to say Gary couldn't play 9-Ball and One Pocket, but his Dad was top drawer. It took a champion to beat him at 9-Ball and in One Pocket he was a ball under the best players. Joey was a serious player. I watched him devour a slew of roadmen in Dayton and Cinncinati.

Steve Cook learned a lot of One Pocket from playing with Joey. One memorable match was against Eddie Taylor at the "Cue And Bridge" in Dayton. They played 9-Ball first and Joey won two Races that were close. Like 11-9 and 11-8. They were betting something like two or three hundred a Race. A fairly big bet in the early 60's. Then they One Pocket for 50 a game as I recall. Also very close, back and forth. They played many games and finally Taylor won maybe four games and Joey said he had enough. He quit winners, ha ha. But Taylor never said a word. He was a class act.

I played Joey myself in the early 70's when I thought I was playing good. He gave me 8-7 and the Break, a very good game.....for him!
We bet 50 a game and it seemed like I started ahead each game like 4-1 or 5-2. Then he would out move me and win. I don't think I won one game! And I pulled up after six or seven games.

Joey

Just A Little On Joey. I Was Down In Johnson City ,ill .in The "60"
The Back Room Was Divided Into Two Section. I Was Setting In The Bleachers In The Front Room. Nothing Was Going Down And No One Was Matching Up. Of Course I Can't See In The Back Room.
Then Everyone In The Back Room Came Pouring Into The Front.
In Walks Joey And Upto The Snooker Table. He Placed An Object Ball On The Spot And Took Cue Ball In Hand Behind The Object Ball. Him And "wennie Bennie" Covered All Rail Bets. Joey Spun The Cue Ball Three Rails To Hit The Ball, Where Ever It Went He Would Spin The Cue Ball Again. He Had 10 Trys To Nudge It In The Corner Pocket. Oh! Never Bet On Another Mans Trick. He Could Have Done It In 5...

Joey

Joey Could Freeze A Object Ball On The Short Rail ,first Diamond
Spin The Cue Ball Three Rails And Make It In The Corner Pocket For The Cash.try That One.you'll Do Good To Get It By The Side Hole.

Raffle winners list!

Here they are, the Bugs Rucker benefit raffle winners. If you won something, you have already been sent an email letting you know, so if you have not seen the email, contact me. Please be patient with the shipping, too -- there is a lot to get to here. But again, contact me if you do not receive your item in a reasonable time.

It?s always nice to win something, of course, but the real winner was Bugs Rucker. Because of the fantastic generosity of all of you, we raised $6370 for a legendary player in a genuine time of need!!! That makes every one of you who chipped in a winner in my book.

I hope all of you enjoy what you won, and I especially hope it stays with you for many years (or perhaps gets passed along) as a symbol of the fine example of human kindness it represents. Perhaps seeing what you won some day in the future will recall your kindness and inspire again?and the circle goes round and round.

Thanks again, on behalf of Bugs!!
