Rags to Rifleman Books For Sale

Hi all,

I have 3 of Buddy Hall's books about his life as a road player (RAGS TO RIFLEMAN). I read it and it has a lot of interesting points and memories of the players of the old days and what he went through as a road player and how great of a player he is.

Anyone interested please make me an offer above $150.00 and for another $100.00 I'll include an autographed Willie Mosconi book.

I haven't found ANY of these anywhere since I made the purchase of these 3 books and people I have asked haven't seen any either.

Thanks,
Old School Pool

The price sounds pretty brutal! I'd like to read the book & so would a lot of forum members but at that sticker you're out of the ballpark. I get the feeling most of us are scufflers or workin folks & surely can"t afford these prices.

The price may seem a little high, but I paid a fortune for these as well. Besides this is a piece of pool history that is no longer in publication and is no where to be found. Actually though a lot of pool players bet big money in pool as I do and this is really just a portion of what most players bet in most cases.

Just because players will gamble big does not mean they will pay a ridiculous amount for a book. Winning One Pocket is much newer than RtR, but it goes for $200.00 a pop because it actually TEACHES how to win at One Pocket.

Also, last I heard, most top money players aren't real big on reading. :D

Actually, it's educational to know that this book is hard to find and people might pay a premium for them. I had no idea.

Hi Chris...This book is very hard to find. I seen it posted here a while ago and did some research on it and I found only one place that had it. Yes, there's one in some guy's eBay store, but he wants a lot more than what I'm asking. Plus I have 3 of them. This book is intended for a COLLECTOR or someone who likes pool nostalgia.

You should see my Willie Mosconi collection!

I figure I'll wait until the prices are just so frigging unreal, that someone finally comes to the realization that there needs to be a limited reprint in either paperback or hardback. At some of the prices this book is going for, I figure we're just about there.

I very much do want to read this book, but not at anything a penny over $100.00.

Really, most top money players aren't big on reading, wow. Do you think this is a ridiculous price to pay for this book, golly gee I was going to buy it because it's the best price I had seen in the past 9 months. But I guess I won't, thanks for setting me straight.

Heh heh, then buy all of them. I'm SURE you'll make a profit if it's the best price you've seen and they can actually be resold at the $450.00 price range people are trying to charge.

i'll give you the money for the book tomorrow but I need a pick of the book and what condition of the buddy hall book

It's a shame that a book with high educational and entertainment value will be traded and retraded just to get the value higher for another resell. The shame is actually on the publisher who wouldn't make a new edition of it and print more.

I already own this book. I'm looking one that could honestly be considered "fine" condition by book collectors. This means like new, no stains, no creases, no tears, no writing on it.

If you can send pics of a book in this condition. I will buy it.
Danny

PS I am also looking for "The Lions and the Lambs" in similiar condition

This is the PM I sent you 3 days ago. I thought I'd post it here in case you do not know how to find/read PM's:rolleyes:

what condition are these books? I need to see pics. I bought one from a (to remain nameless) AZer, and it was grossly misrepresented as to condtion.
