Anybody hear from Raist (Titlistsucker) ? Hope he's OK...

Got a couple of text messages off him last week, Chris. I haven't heard anything from him this week and I text his phone twice.

I do hope the dude is ok.

I try to visit him as often as i can. The last time i did was about a week ago. His health has deteriorated. But he is still very passionate about his cues and his collection. Even though he has sold mosts of them. I was showing him my Jim Buss titlist and we talked mostly about the titlist collection that pass through his hands. But it was heart aching talking to him looking at his now really thin frame. I try to visit him as often as i can. For i am afraid i will not be able to do so for too many times now.

Thank you for the touching update.

I like a lot of people, but there is something very special about Raist's personality that is just magnetic. I truly feel a sense of suffering with him. He loves his cues and has been wonderful to communicate with.

He may not be with us much longer here, but I guarantee I will never forget my Titlist friend from Singapore.

If anyone has any pictures of Raist, please e-mail one to me.

Chris

Sorry to hear that Raist may be slipping away. I'll think of him every time I look at the Greenleaf conversion I got from him a while back. He was a true gentleman to deal with.:(

Sorry to hear that his health has not improved. His contributions to the forum is something I have enjoyed and his cues are awesome.
I communicated with him a couple of times and requested his inputs on some cues that were of interest to me. He always was very helpful and supportive.
He is a very nice person indeed...

I'm echoing the sentiments above. Raist offered me very timely and helpful advice several times and was a great person to correspond with.

I am really sick of the big "C" attacking so many people I know over the past few years.

i think.. and feel... that in singapore.. there is no one else.. that has his experience.. in cues.. hes the only one i can ask for opinions and views and get answers im satisfied with.. though i dont know him that well.. we spoke once.. and he shared alot of his knowledge on cues with me.. :(

Just got a text off him.....I will write it as Raist wrote it.....

'I got the message thanks (from Dennis Searing)....The last couple of weeks I haven't been online because of the pain....but its under control now. Many thanks for your concern pal.'

Raist, you have a lot of support on AZ, dude.....we are all thinking about you. We hope you are comfortable.

May God's hand be upon him as he endures this pain. I am truly saddened by this. I knew he was sick with cancer, but had no idea he would go downhill so fast.

Raist, know that many here are thinking of you and praying for you man.

I had no idea his medical issues were so severe. I knew that he was getting rid of some of his stuff, but I thought only to possibly pay for medical expenses, as I don't know what the medical issues may be in Singapore.

If you see this post, I pray that all turns out ok and you are Blessed with a miracle Raist.

Take care.

I first want to say that I truly hope and pray that you are miraculously healed Raist.

It occurred to me that in most cases, when something like this happens, everyone sends blessings, etc., and almost nothing else comes across until after someone passes on. Then the conversations and notes start about how wonderful a person they were, etc.

I hope others follow suit with the following.

Raist
I will attempt to use this as an opportunity to let you know what it is about you that has made a difference in me. I have never met you face to face, but every time we PM'd each other or posted on common threads, there was always a great amount of respect on you part to ensure that an unbiased opinion came across. I cannot recall you ever berating any cuemaker or their work, and you have always been more than forthcoming with information. From someone who is always trying to learn more, that has been appreciated. Obviously this includes all of the info you have provided countless others with regard to Titlist cues, as well as many other types of vintage cues. I want to thank you for providing the valuable information regarding Burton Spain and his blank making abilities. As others on this forum do, you have unselfishly pointed out auctions on ebay that may interest others, even when you had interest in them yourself.

I am saddened to think of what may lie ahead for you, and pray that you can keep your pain at arm's length. I don't know if you are a Christian or not, but I will end with a verse from one of my favorite songs.
"And with your final heartbeat, kiss the world goodbye,
And go in peace and laugh on glory side,
And fly to Jesus, fly to Jesus, fly to Jesus and live."

I sold Raist a Scruggs titlist once!

He was very suprised to learn from me I knew exactly how sick he was at the time. I had hoped it would bring alot of pleasure into his life! I didn't mind loosing on that deal at all. I think of him alot!
Good Chap that Raist! And please any one in Singapore tell him Niki said so!

Raist,
I have always admired your information for the short time I have been reading your posts. I also share your passion for titlist cues. I found there is little in life that means anything, except our word. Your word has always been strong. This quote is for you Raist:

The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his information and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply persues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he's always doing both. -James A. Michener

Peace,
John

Hope you get better my friend, there are too many cues to buy and sell to lose you. Thanks for my best cue.

Thank you very much for the photo. I am awaiting your permission to publish it here on these boards.

Best wishes to you and Raist!
