Raj Hundal's Mistake at Japan Open

yellow-green 6 and baby-blue 7. that's the problem with these balls. the rest of the colors are ok.

While the colors may look similar blaming it on Cyclops is easy way out
I mean this type of error aklmost never happens with top pros. In fact, only time I recall in recent high profile events when a player shoots wrong number ball is Steve Davis probably a decade ago. I think it was W9B :D

The balls are garbage. Many pros have complained about how they skid. From my experience playing with them, they skid a lot. It is a shame such crap is used for major events.

Not to split hairs, but in golf, the concede isn't always a 3 footer and easy. Sometime the hole is conceded depending on the match situation (if down 3 with 3 to play and the player hits a drive OB) or, Jack's concede at the 69 Ryder Cup

Sometimes in team events, the whole match is conceded - it's not too cut a dry, I feel anyways. But I do get your point. :)

PS - sorry, thought I was replying directly to a post above..

I hate the colors of the Cyclops Balls. I am to old to learn them. The only time I see them is when I watch a Tournament using them, and I never know what ball the Player should shoot next.

I feel the same way about the tv balls - and jump cues.

Those colors still throw me, way too similar. don't know how they play since
I haven't played with them but the colors are bad.

Some years ago I was in a $200 set giving up the six and the last three, and hung a seven ball in the corner at hill-hill (I had one barrel to fire). Spanish Pete from NYC was with me, and whispered, "Professor, why don't you concede the ball?" Humph!! My opponent hit the 7 ball razor thin and the cue ball went all the way down the long rail to scratch in the corner downtable to gift me the set. It appears that in the heat of battle, he forgot that the 7 was a game ball for him, and was playing position for the 8 on the opposing short rail. I went on to win the next five sets, for a $1400 swing.

I was on the phone with Pete the other day, and he related to me that in a recent finals against Zion Zvi, he was about to concede a hanger in the hill-hill game but something held him back. Zion dogged the 9.

In competition, never concede!

The towel

towel
They should bring this conceding idea into other sports. Would shorten up a lot of golf, tennis matches let alone the big four sports of hockey, football, baseball and basketball. Maybe more people would watch........oh wait.

I admit to throwing in the towel a few times since 1955. But as I got older I almost never did, other than when injured or ill.

Since I've run a few 8-packs, I would never give up in a race to ten games or less. I've seen too many matches in tennis and other sports to know there's always a chance unless the clock or the score make the comeback mathematically impossible.

It's especially a bad thing to do when there may be people betting on the match.

But I loved your George Carlin quote; I read his autobiography not long ago, and found we had much in common.
