Ran into Shane at a pool hall.

A Valley that plays as good as a Diamond....I’ve heard everything now.
The Diamond 7 footers here are in really bad shape; maybe once a year new cloth and maybe leveled. Did I mention the bad rails on the Diamonds? Valley bar boxes with good cloth and rails will play better than a Diamond in shitty shape.

Naturally there are conditions that can change values....but if conditions are equal. one Diamond is worth four Valleys.

So what you're saying is next time I'm at a pool hall I should go to the person working there and say if one diamond is worth four valleys I should be able to play on four different Valley tables for the price of one hour on the diamond table. LOL

I have to agree with you on that. BTW, that was the BEST Valley table I have played on; on par with the new Valleys in Vegas for APA Nationals.

I owned two Valleys for a few years. They gave me a pretty good extra income. Easy to maintain. But each rail is held on by three small screws.... not for serious players.

Legitimate question what do you mean by 3 small screws holding on the rails and they're not for serious players? I'm a little bit confused like what does how the rails are held on have anything to do with someone playing on them? Does that matter in playing pool? I mean are diamonds or gold crowns held differently?

I believe the newer Valley tables have 5 bolt rails and with decent cloth/balls play quite good.

Problem is the heavy backed cloth and cheapest balls available. Oh and being bar boxes, guess what , they are in bars!

Any decent table has rail BOLTS....they bolt through the slate.
Valleys rails are just small SCREWS that attach to the frame.
I could change the rails on my Valleys in minutes with just a small screw driver.

Yesterday I played some on a 6’ table. It had a plywood bed i believe, which was covered in some kind of red material from a Santa suit...maybe craft store felt.

The pockets were 5” maybe a little more with virtually no shelf. Balls would go in that didn’t seem possible in this dimension. I was thinking to myself...valleys ain’t all that bad

We have 860 Simonis and tournament balls on three Valleys at our place....play decent but still bar boxes.
...I looked up Valley rails...still screws no matter how many.

If you were in Rapid City SD, you could have been in Break Room Billiards. I stopped there last year. This is the room owned by Shane’s grandfather and where he learned to play pool. I played on a Valley rental that was as good as any Diamond bar box I play on at home.
Sounds like he barely knew what state he was in.

Back in 1950’s the tables at the Miami Boys Club had folding legs, when you sank a ball there was a loud rumble, many time ball jut hit cement floor.

Let’s say by today’s standard these table were pure crap.

But the kids at Boys club did not care, we sat in chairs waiting our turn to play 8 ball. Winner continued to play until loosing.

Then they went back to waiting for there turn to play again.

Pool was very popular with those kids.

We were happy to have two junky tables, a few cue, and complete ball sets.

Some kids today will not wear anything that is not branded like $150.00+ Jordan Shoes.🤪

Just because I need to be absolutely clear I am not a stalker. I'm not sure why you would even think this. I mean you should have said you should try and play Shane see how many games you could win. And then tell me how on Valley Bar Box I could win all of them because it's so easy. Or something of that nature. I mean if you beat Earl Strickland on a 9-foot diamond table beating Shane on a 7 Foot valley table should be a piece of cake.
You are exactly the type of person who would be a stalker based on your postings here. And this creepy thread is just the icing on the cake.

Do you also fancy Jodi Foster?
