Very nice rare older 4 point black boar cue. It has a number etched under the bumper on the weight bolt. Talked to tony about it at the sbe and he said that he did that on the first series of cues, and you take away the first number and the remaining two numbers is the order the cue was made. This has a 491 so it would be the 91st cue made. The points and butt appear to be macassar ebony.( I originaly listed it as cocobolo because it was not solid black. The wrap might be cortland but i'm not an expert. The butt weighs 15.5 oz. And the shaft is 12.8 mm and weighs 3.75 oz. The butt is in great original condition, and has a small ding on the joint collar as shown in the picture. The cue rolls straight together and apart. Talked to Tony about this cue again. He said that the numbers are not in any kind of order and the first set of cues had the joint pin sticking out 1 inch past the joint. He said the more "complex" cues built after that stick out 3/4" as this one does.

Wow, great cue there and rare! Fewer Black Boars floating around with the numbers under the butt cap then 6 pointers. GLWS

Pin legnth

Count the treads. 14 to in inch. I see 11. That would be 6/7 of an inch. So about an inch.
Nick :)

Nick is right. I will get an exact measurement when I get home.
Thanks for looking !

There is 7/8" threads exposed not counting the pilot. I have another BB cue numbered 319 and it measures the exact same. Hope this helps.

Had several close offers. Someone make me an offer I can't refuse. Pictures do this cue no justice.
