RARE Predator CUSTOM CUE #7184148563

I asked the seller if the cue was marked as Predator or if the shaft was 314 or Z and here's the response:

This cue is made by Travis Cornelius who was a co-founder of Predator. Because of his relationship with the company now he can not mark any cue or product with the Predator logo. Do you understand? The shaft is not a 314 or Z shaft but it is constructed the same way. Travis helped design the ferral work which is why Predator cues are Predator cues. Don't mean to burst your bubble but the shaft being splices of wood doesn't do anything for the cue. It is all in the ferral work. That last statement is something only a few people actually know. So happy birthday to ya.

My questions:
1) Is he being a smart-ass??
2) Who is Travis Cornelius? Is smart-ass right about this?
3) Any opinions on the ferral (sic)

1) Yes
2) No clue, but he has no affiliation with Predator Products
3) The ferrule is proprietary unit and is not let out into the public, I doubt that it is a genuine Predator ferrule.

It's a false auction, this person would most likely use any high profile company's name to boost bids on his auction.

I saw the auction as well and realized there was no markings. I would contact Predator to verify the info provided.

what a jackhole..... he is full of hot air.

I'd report the auction, as his last sentence is against ebay policy.

wonder why ol' Travis' name isn't mentioned anywhere here?

You'd also surmise that based upon Travis' extensive cue building experience, he'd be able to sign a cue in a much better fashion...

Here's another response from the guy after I told him I'd report his listing to eBay (which I did) and inform billiard forums. Honestly, I've never had a bad communications (beside NO communications from sellers) with a seller before this. And the guy hids his email address on the response!!! I swear, all I did was to ask him if the cue was marked as Predator and had 314 or Z shaft and he started mouthing off

Wow, I am trembling in my shoes... Did you read the listing at all....did you look at the pictures....hope you feel better after finding out what I stated is true from the billiards board. Try not to feel too ignorant. If this is all you have to do in your spare time then I would suggest you get a job.

His Feedback Should Tell You Everything You Need To Know...beware

Heres What I Got

I ASKED HIM FOR THE CUE MAKERS PERSONAL CONTACT INFO SO I COULD ASK HIM ABOUT AN EXTRA SHAFT JUST TO SEE WHAT HE WOULD SAY...HERE IS THE EXACT ANSWER

The builders name is Travis Cornelius, the cue is 19 ounces and approx. 58.5 inches in total length. His shafts run $225. In regards to my feedback....I do not sell much and am only selling this cue because my main playing cue has come back from Predator. Travis does not making a living building cues as stated in my auction but if you want his contact information to receive another shaft you will have to be the winning bidder. That is personal information that I am not entitled to give anyone. Hope that answers all of your questions and concerns.

Thanks.

What a scumbag! I'd bet 10-to-1 that Allan Mccarty and Steve Titus have never heard of Travis whatever. And the sig - "JC 1of4" - provides irrefutable proof that it's NOT a Predator cue. Which makes his entire listing illegal.

And people wonder why the cue market is so soft....

It looks like a cheap ass foreign cue to me.

what an ahole!

in his defense though:

1. Some people are rudely misinformed or just plain ignorant, or gullable, or all three. Someone(the cuemaker) may have totally snow jobbed this idiot into believing everything that he wrote.

2. He is correct about the pie splicing having nothing to do with the way predator shafts deflect(or don't deflect). It is entirely in the 4" hollow area at the top of the shaft and the thin plastic ferrule that they use that reduces the deflection. It's really quite obvious, they do everything they can to lessen the weight in the front most part of the shaft which allows the shaft to deflect significantly less than other shafts.

in our defense:

I wouldn't touch this auction with a 10 foot pole, unless I was looking for a 150.00 ying/yang cue.

This cue sold for $360!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
