Rasson 4 inch pockets

The overhead shots of that table look horrible because the cushions overhang the rails by so much, kind of looks like a gaffed table.
200% gaffed

I wanted to get close up pics of the pockets. Had I went the last day, possibly I couple have got pics. But I didn’t go. Couldn’t get into the practice rooms this year either. More security than the pentagon

so the better the players, the tougher the table should be.

same should be for basketball make the hoop real small so they cant make a 3 pointer. and move the goal posts back in football so they cant make long field goals.
lets make the hole smaller in golf for the pros as well.

and kniow what the idiots will all want to have the same conditions. just like what is happening in pool. the tables in poolrooms now are much tighter than previously. and fun players dont have fun. even decent players dont get to play well.

there is a good reason in sports for the conditions to be made to a standard so its fair and the same or close to it for all.

Never thought I would say this but 4 inches may be perfect for professional tourney tables, where there's zero chance of having enough time for the cloth to break in. Now an open event like Derby -- a 4 inch pocketed Diamond table wouldn't work. Especially when playing multiple disciplines on it.

Another side benefit for Matchroom if they decided to go this direction is -- they can have shorter races and still feel like the better performer is winning the match.

Downside is -- not too many rooms or home owners would want a table this difficult.

They need to quit messing with the equipment and just pick something.

So, top NFL teams should play on 120 yard fields with goal post at 1 meter apart ??
Top NBA teams should play with 12 feet 90% scale baskets and under inflated basketballs ??
top NL/AL teams should play with cork bats and 110 foot between bases ??
????

No, everyone should play with pockets of the same size, shelf depth, and rails of the same nose height.

Agreed. Pool is fractured enough as it is. Specialized tables is just one more example.
The problem isn't the tables. It's the game. Pros running rack after rack on "buckets", aka standard table,is boring for most casual viewers.

That is the only possible way to tighten the pockets to that extent without custom making all the table’s rails and pocket parts for 4” corners and 4-1/2” sides.
If you look at a Diamond table with factory 4 1/8 corners it doesn’t look goofy like the Rasson. If Rasson wants a 4” corner they should design it that way from the start. All Match Room and Rasson are accomplishing is proving how goofy they can get.

But "buckets" sure are fun for the guys and girls down at Luigi's. Remember your first run-out?

What I'm waiting for is the day to come when one of these table manufacturers comes out with a table with 2 1/4" pockets and rules stating the players must were blindfolds.

Here's the minimum aperture for a "bucket".
