RAT or JD

I am looking at one of each and having a hard time deciding. I like a softer hit like the early Meucci's. Been advised the RAT hits like a Schon. Just wondering how the JD hits. Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks.

JD cues are from the Philippines. I know that there are cue makers from there that make
a heck of a cue. I've also heard that there is so much moisture in the air over there, that
shafts and butts have been known to warp when arriving into the more dry US climate.
My choice would have to be with Ryan. He can always put on a soft tip for a softer hit
and he makes one fine cue. JMO. Just share some pics when you've made your choice.

I like RAT...
Ryan does AN EXCELLENT JOB on his cues,
Very high quality and ,
and well executed,
I believe he cores His cues with purple heart,
for playing qualities and structural soundness.
I bought a new one from Meullers,
a plain maple player, with the G 10 pin
was great cue for the $$

I remember when JD cues were selling on ebay for $200, some guy made a deal with him and now they go 4 times that. I highly recommend RAT cues, first off you're paying for what youy are getting, not a 400% mark up, and rat cues play great. JD cues are good players as well, ive owned both, but JDs butt warped on me bad, where the finish cracked it was so bad. just something to think about. plus the rat in the picture looks great. love green veneers:thumbup:

Not experienced with a Rat cue, but if Ryan puts in the same amount of work on his custom cues as he does with the rest of the work he does, you won't be disappointed.

I have a JD cue. I like mine just fine. It plays nice and has good feel to it. I have no idea on what a person could rightly compare it to tho.

What I hear about Ryan is that his cues are very well constructed, he's a very nice guy, and his prices are stupid low. I'd go with him.

EDIT: In fact, just saw this one in the FS section that seems a fantastic deal: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=383138

And no, it's not my cue and I don't know the guy who's selling it.

RAT - Ryan knows his stuff and it's made in the USA.
JD - Made in the Philippines and can possibly warp, but I've heard good things about them.

I bought a JD about 2 years ago. It's a good cue and mine hasn't warped. The finish leaves a little to be desired.

I'm sure there are nice cues out of the Philippines, but you have to get lucky. Ryan is a pro's pro; I'd go with the RAT all day.

JD I have is great I hear rat cues are great too sure u will be happy either way
