Mr. Jerry Rauenzahn sent this Brazilian Rosewood Hoppe cue to me last weekend. It's simply beautiful!!!! It started out as a full splice, then it became a Hoppe sleeper with an unusual leather wrap. The leather is very soft to the touch, and for the life of me I can't remember the name of it. I'll post the name when I get a chance to talk to Mr. Jerry later this week. It's much softer than the typical black pigskin Jerry uses. It sports the 5/16-14 SS pin Jerry does so well; and the shaft snugs up on the last turn to make the cue create a solid "ping" sound when you stroke a ball. I LOVE that sound. Shaft has an ivory ferrule and is 12.65 mm, and the Hoppe ring is ivory as well.

If you want a quality cue from an old school builder talk to Jerry.

Thanks for sharing John. That Jerry R sure makes a beautiful cue, his cues play awesome as well. Jerry really nailed it with the veneer colors on your cue. The entire cue flows very well from top to bottom. Jerry doesn`t miss a beat, hands down another sweet looking cue from the Rauenzahn shop.

Can't wait

Seeing these pics makes me more eager to get my fullsplice cue from Jerry. He could be by far the most responsive cue maker I have dealt with and a pure pleasure to talk to.

Nice cue... looks like a great daily driver.

thats a very nice cue, I love the color of the wrap and I'm not a brown leather guy. I was thinking when I read ther OP it might be kangaroo but it didnt look right to be kangaroo. I have shot 3 giraff's, I had a gun bag made out of the neck of one, the other 2 were old bulls that were so scratched up from the lions that the leather wasnt worth saving. Where I was hunting old bulls are the only thing legal to shoot. I shot one that was black-damnedest thing you ever saw. boy do they run fast. Hunting them isnt very much fun-there isnt much to it. They are so beatiful when there is a heard of 10-15 in a family, I wouldnt ever shoot one of those even if it was legal. The bulls kinda stray off from the family when they get too old-they are legal to hunt, the meat isnt edible it smells like nyquil or something its aweful. We use the meat for lion bait. they are huge too, bigger than you think. there are several species that are a bit smaller up in Kenya

you need to burnish the tip, it looks horrible. I wonder how that happened:confused: other wise nice cue, Id be proud to own a cue like that, its a players cue for sure.

Hi John Marshall, I really like the cue and all your -R- cues, is it possible your related to me? I sure hope so and make sure to put me in the will. :D
About to ship out my -R- cue for a refinish, add ons and perhaps a white leather wrap, I am so excited about it.
