Real Road Player Sponsored by USPS!

It's getting closer! Why do I think it's still possible it could end up in Montana or something? 🤪

Need me to send you some homeopathic remedies and essential oils?

Never mind. If I send it USPS you’ll be dead long before they get there.
They could use the oils for aromatherapy at my wake.

A little burkholderia pneumonia is no big deal, right? It's exotic.

The infrastructure is breaking down.

It's not about corporate leadership or government. It's cultural. It's about individual people doing their job.

I'm getting a short fuse on this I guess.

I reflect on our sport getting into legit space. Pros making what they should. Tournaments being what they should. The sport needs to mature financially. We sit here collecting technical data for decades. It's a failure to launch scenario.

For God sake break dancing made it into the Olympics but not cue sports?
I’ve interviewed the German head coaches about this. The explanation boggles the mind.
Gambling on games and cues? Still? Really? Business is gambling, truly. But transcending from smokey pool rooms to board rooms isn't happening yet.
Pool becoming a legit sport and not out hustler stigma, is the key.
Sure, occasionally...

This is bigger than shipping delays.

I haven't checked golf or tennis forums, but I doubt they have the same problems.
Pool was in schools in California, and Bart Mahoney was the driving force- he created a plan that only needed 30K to enact in multiple districts but got shut down. It’s still on the BEF website if you want a gander.

So, I got the cue. Packaged well, and a surprise.

Cue was bubble wrapped, in a triangle box, which was inside a square box. I had negotiated the shaft out of the deal. When I opened the package, I found the seller had included the shaft! Spectacular! I also got four weight bolts and joint protectors.

So, what is the cue?

Well, I have been on a thing lately attracted to the ebony Dufferin cues and conversions. I thought the cue might go well with these cues in my collection. I will get some pics soon, until then, these are the ones I already had, along with a 58 inch green leaf Dufferin. They are all 5/16x14 pin as is the one I just got.

Here is a crop of one of the seller's pics. Ebony Dufferin conversion with stainless piloted 5/16x14 pin, 0.840 at the joint face, linen wrap, and Delrin butt cap. No butterfly, just jet black ebony. All the work seems perfectly done. Cue is pristine.

Honestly, I was having one converted, this is exactly what I would have done, right down to the joint diameter and short wrap. It's perfect.

Maybe, someday, put a black leather wrap on it. Who knows?

These things are serious players, really, and that ebony resonance just feels so sweet. And with a standard joint type, I might even grab a CF shaft to try with them.

I will get my own pics of it probably this weekend, including with the cue's new siblings.

Awesome cues. Hate the bumpers.
They do the job though...
Yeah. The middle cue has a simple mushroom bumper, original. That's not so bad. The new one has a simple lower profile, that's not so bad, but could be lower profile, I might get one. (Might have one or two in my bumper box.)

But the old school traditional Dufferin bumpers are like those bug rubber bumper extensions they put on European supercars in the 70's and 80's to meet federal safety standards.

I may just put something else on them. Some people think it's so important it says "Made In Canada" on them. So, I can keep them in case of sale.

They are still available anyway.

Easy to change anyway. No big deal.

The original Dufferin Glider Joint shafts are still available in Canada too. I can't find them in the US. I might pick up a couple just to have new shafts for a couple of these cues.
