I've got a great idea but I just don't know how to pull it off. It would be great for pool and might just generate alot of interest.
I reality show where there are about 12 teams, maybe more, from around the country. These teams are made up of average players from the local leagues. Nobody over a 5 APA rating would be allowed at the start of it. Just for an example . The rating could be a 4, 5, 6 to be decided later. Just no champions or great players to start with. These would be players built from the average league ratings.
Because this would be for the average Joe or Sue that plays every week in a pool league somewhere. Men and women.
These teams would be coached by some of the top teachers in the country. The idea is to get these players up to speed to compete against each other. Showing how hard they train. Showing their lives and what they need to go through to prepare.
The show would be more than just about the pool but what needs to be done to play well. Eating excersize and alot of training. All aspects of getting ready to compete.
I have a connection in the TV world. I don't know how strong it is but if there is a possibility to get some TV money involved that would be huge.
Stan Shuffet, Scott Lee, Randy Goetlicker, jerry Brieseth, Bret Lee and maybe even myself, just for a few that I would try to get involved with this if there is some interest to get this off the ground. Who know's. We might get 100 teams around the country. A national type of pool league. But of course it would not be possible without the TV money.
I know there is hundreds of instructors around the country that would be great candidates to teach a team. What fun this would be for any instructor anywhere. Having a chance to train and really see the results with the students competing on a nation wide show.
Each team could be from the teachers home area so the training would be easier to do. The competing would be at the same place all the time. Some studio somewhere that would be convenient for the Network. It could even be at one one the poolhalls somewhere in the country. Could be in Fargo, Minneapolis, California, Kansas City. it could be anywhere. Just need a great place to compete.
This could work if the TV money would get involved.
There could also be spinoffs on the local level for each team. like a rerality show for their training.
Other players around the country would also learn from what they are seeing done on the TV show.
We need to create interest in pool. This might help for sure.
Any thoughts on how this could wwork or would work.
Open to all ideas. Right now this is just a thought. In order to become a reality there has to be a good plan.
OK AZers. let's go to work and put on our thinking caps and share some of that knowledge that might just make this possible?
I'm all ears..Thanks ahead of time..........
