What is the best production cue for a 100 dollars or less.

I am shopping for a 10 year old who is just starting out.

Thanks,
Marcus

for about 130 you can find lower-end mcdermotts, they at least have decent components and are also constructed very well, plus they have a lifetime warranty that includes warpage. any cue below that probably hasn't had the shaft turned more than twice and will probably warp no matter what in a few months.

Low end used viking or joss for about 100.

Schmelke or Dufferin or even Players for about 50 or 60.

I'm probably going to catch some flak for but Aska's play well and you can break with'em:) (Mine works great as a back up breaker) for under $100.00CDN

Schmelke. Plus when you order from them you can have it customized like for example a different type of wood, have the buttcap removed, butt thickness, etc. in addition to the usual options of weight, caliber, joint type, tip and etc. It'll be fun for the little kid and really make him feel proud about the cue.

i honestly think its 100$ waisted :d (im using a break and playcue that both together are worth around that amount) my playingcue is CRAP. ive played with several other 30-100$ cues but they all play the same. and i regret i spend 35$ on my playcue. (even if 35$ is NOTHING)

if i had 100$ again and i would have to do the same choice id go for.

take a housecue or 2 that feels greath. get it to a shop. ask them to put on a ivory ferrule and a good tip (moori medium for me). (maybe even make it into a 2 piece cue for easy handling) (cost around 20$ or more for the 2piece thing i think)

then id buy a J&J jump/breakcue (u can find them for 45$ or cheaper) and they are SUPERB (in contrary to there playing cue line)

with the remaining 35$ id buy a J&J 2x4 case.

that would be the best 100$ u could spend.

ps: personal opinion ofcourse , take it for what u think its worth :D

I would recommend a players cue for $100 or below. You can get a nice cue with beautiful inlay points--for about $100. Or you can choose a birdseye maple with colored stain or even a cue with decals for less than $100. It's not necessary to go the snobbish or expensive route until your youngster has proven his interest and is a few years older. I'm told the players sneaky petes hit real good and that is a value for less than $50.

ACTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would go with a Action cue, like a Action Rings or Inlay series cue. They run about 80$ and play very nice.

Hey are you the Guy that bids up his auctions on eBay?

William

well being as how all of his auctions are "buy it now" or "make offer", I'd say no......

I am Cass from Hall Of Fame Billiards in Michigan and I deal in Nick Varner
Cues for the last 4 years. Nick has the best assortment of novice line cues
that play well and will fit your budget nicely. I havent had any major problems
selling his line to my customers and they look good also.
