Who holds the most balls on break record for 9-ball? Has anyone ever made 9?
Filmed, or many witnesses/major tournament only, no bigfishstorytime.

ajrack said:I once made 7 balls on the break and was hooked behind the 9 ... had to shoot at the 7, kicked and "slopped it"...and then got the 9!!! (to win $20)
I have seen a few players make 6, Medina, Ambrose, Relihan just to name some. Bryan Mordt of BCM cues, made 7 at the Golden 8 in Phoenix.

ALL NINE on the break. I think the rack is set funny though, if you look real closely, it looks loose. Really cool, though!

If you click on the "9-Balls Break Shot" link on that page under the media try reading the 'comments' where they admit it themselves.

I've made 6 a handful of times, and I don't consider myself as having a "monster break" or anything like that, so I'm sure there are people out there who have done better than that. The funny thing about the person that I saw make 7 was, he wasn't really a player. He was a guy who would come to the pool room and get rediculous spots from everyone, but he could hit them hard. Even more funny was that the only two balls left were the 8 and 9, and he was dead froze to the 9 - hooked on the 8! If you ever want to see a BIG break, check out Charlie "Hillbilly" Bryant break the balls. All I can say about his break is "wow".
I believe Donnie Hall split the cue ball in half one time on the break!frankncali said:i have also witnessed 7 on the break but with the 7 and 9 left. The guy was
dead hooked as well. Could this be the pool gods saying be careful
for what you wish for! I also saw the same guy break and the cue ball split
into two pieces when it contacted the rack. It was on a bar table.
Probably an old ball but he hit them hard and it made for a funny moment
with one half hooked and the other straight on the one ball.
Snoozy said:"Fast Larry" Grindinger claims a record of 8 balls in both 9 ball and 8 ball. As to whether that's on film or not I don't know. The following page doesn't include info as to witnesses. I don't know whether to believe this self-promoter or not.

No record is kept for breaks at nine ball or eight ball. Personally, I wouldn't accept any claim that was not in a tournament -- too easy to have a favorable table or favorable racking.bethesilentone said:Who holds the most balls on break record for 9-ball? Has anyone ever made 9?
