Recording Practice

external hard drive, logitech C920. But that's only if you're playing pool or something like that, 8 hours sound like you might be making some extra income with some live cam action "if you know what i mean"
8 HOURS UNINTERRUPTED? When do you plan on watching that? I'm sorry but that sound like the worst idea every from here. My camcorder does 30 min sessions so i use those sometimes to do a specific exercise that way i can go back and just watch that, other than that I only record one match or round of the ghost at a time.

Lots of high end or extra cost stuff listed, I think just a tablet or camera phone would be just fine to see what you are doing wrong, they make a lot of various mounts for those. Or a web-cam with a USB cord on a laptop, about $50 for a good webcam.

You don't need to film yourself in 300 fps 4k video to see your wrist twist or you moving before the shot is done.

There is another software called Kinovea, that I plan to use in the future. I think it will handle multiple cameras.

Agree 100% most "players" on this site don't have enough game for an instant camera let alone all these setups.

Phone camera is MORE THAN ENOUGH!

Recording 2, 3, 4, 5, 6hrs, really? All you're gonna see is yourself making the same mistakes over and over and over and......

Record a few games then watch. When you find a mistake, setup that shot and shoot it 10 times(while recording), then watch again. If the problem is fixed, move on to the next mistake on the original video.

This doesn't have to be difficult.

Remember you are trying to fix your mistakes

in the off chance that anyone is/was wondering why i suggested the C920 a few times here is an example, take location and lighting into consideration.

Yes, I agree the Logitech C920 is a good camera, I use it at my desk with SKYPE.

I have used 2-3 of them with Stroke Analyzer... easy to do & more than acceptable recordings for analyzing one's Pool performance.

Whatever you use, make sure you have enough Memory/space to record video for 2+ hours.
Therefore you can hit record and focus on practice.

There's nothing worse than recording a tough out or an accomplishment of a difficult drill and to walk over to the camera and see it dormant with the recording stopped. Heartbreaking.

Facebook live doesn't use any disc space at all no matter how little you have on your phone. I set up my IPhone on FB live while I practice mostly to see my stroke and whether I'm staying down. I lock it into the handle of my case. I've done this at Bayshore, CueBar in Bayside, and Raxx and it came out good.
Of course I'm boring the hell out of my FB friends, especially the non pool friends but it has helped me.
Besides videoing, I wish pool rooms had more mirrors low enough to see your stroke. There is only one that I know of with a mirror that low and it's next to only one table. That's the Hub in Island Park Long Island.

My inquiries in taping that long a "session" had nothing to do with finding my mistakes. I'm long past the point of evaluating my game. I'm interested in taping "sessions" with other players to evaluate their reactions & mistakes attributable to swings in the match to utilize for my own purposes at a later date.

You can now return to being a know it all smart azz as usual.
