This is the Red Dot not the Red circle Cueball. I think it is made by Saluc. Any opinions on the Red Dot Cueball?

I'm not very fond of it. If my memory serves, it is a bit lighter than a blue dot.

The Red Dot is used on Dynamo bar tables. It is very heavy so it will tip the weight scale to make it return. It is the heaviest bar table c/b with the possible exception of the very large c/b. You don't want this on a 9 footer. It follows very well but a long draw shot without a real good draw stroke isn't going to happen.

Based on this post, I've obviously confused the red dot with the red circle.
Not long ago, OldHasBeen wrote an excellent post about the problems caused by using a cueball that doens't conform to the set of balls, and he made his argument very convincingly.

Based on your post, Rodd, the red dot cueball doesn't conform to the usual equipment that is used on a 9 x 4 1/2, so it seems it would be a poor choice.

SJM, yes you did confuse them, it's easy to do unless you actually have first hand experience. It was never meant for a big table, as I said it trips a weight scale because it is so much heavier. I have weighed almost every ball used. A red dot is appz 6 ounces, where a red circle weights in at appx 5.6 oz and a blue dot or circle at appx 5.7 oz. I don't have exact notes handy but those are fairly close figures. The Valley magnetic c/b is around 5.8 oz.
