Red Line "sight"

As I was shooting a couple racks of 9 ball with a buddy of mine at the local hall, I saw something that caught my attention. There was a gentleman at the table beside ours shooting with a cue that had a clearly visible red line coming from the tip wall all the way down to the bottom of the ferrule. I watched him for a couple of 9 ball break and runs and eventually asked him what the deal was (politely of course ).

He said hes been drawing that red line "sight", via red sharpie, on any and all of his cues for years. He claims it helps visualize faster and more accurate aiming.

It dawned on me that this could be an interesting way to enhance a novice or even intermediate level of play. Any thoughts, comments?

Does this help? A lot of people like turning their cues in their grip hand as they run the practice stroke. I suppose it can work for some.

thats been around for eons.....sort of like bob meucci saying he invented the dot on top the red dot shaft to easily align the shaft grains orientation

stuffs been around for a long long time
