I Have Had Enough Of This Thread....i Was There In Columbus When This Game Was Suppose To Happen Then...and I Was Gonna Bet High On It If They Needed My Money In The Middle And They Told Me They Already Had The 10 To Put Up......so I Don't Know Nor Do I Care At This Point....

But I Do Know One Thing If Reid Had Actually Made It To Columbus He Would Have Gotten To Play For The 10k...but Maybe They Told Him That On The Phone I Dunnno...didnt Think So But Reid Is Good Honest Guy So Maybe They Did....but I Do Know He Was In Cincinnati The Day Before The 1000 Entry Fee 8 Ball Tourney In Columbus And Then Didnt Even Show Up For The Tourney....

But What I Do Know Is This Game Can Happen...corey Deuel Is The Best On The Bar Table Ever Period...and No One Is Gonna Play Him That Aint From Another Country..and That Is A Fact........and If Someone WILL PLAY Stop Talking And Lets Post And Not Try To Change The Game To Ten Ball...its Bar Table 9 Ball

Who Wants Some??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
The Best On The Bar Table Ever Period (small chuckle then louder) ? In reality there is no such thing as any one person being the best bar table player in the world ......... think about this if we burned every type of table in the world exept bar tables 20 years ago, and for the last 20 years no one played nothing but bar tables who would be the best ? Exactly my point who knows . it would change month by month if not week by week or even .... you guessed it day by day if not hour by ...OPPS getting carried away but point made I hope .

I couldn't agree more. I have seen guys run 6-7-8 racks on the dam things and by the end of the session be stone broke. Playing on a bar box is as much about fading heat as anything else. There are a million people who play good on them, but how long can they stand the big hit.

I hear Crag Stevens once remark, "everyone is gonna miss. But on the barbox if you miss more than one every 8 hours, you ain't supposed to win.

On a bar table, it's really a toss up if pros are playing each other. Corey can string alot of racks. All of these top players that other people are mentioning can string alot of racks. Whoever does that first is gonna win. I gotta give respect to Jamie for offering this kind of weight. He knows that it's a toss up, and he is willing to bet alot of money on it. The wild 8 or even 7 means nothing. These top pros like Matlock, Bowman, Kirkwood, Walden, etc....if they get to the 7, they are gonna get to the 9 also, so it really means nothing. For those of you who are gonna jump all over Matlock or some other top pro getting weight like the 7 or 8, keep in mind it's the same as playing even. Now if Corey was spotting these guys games on the wire, that's a totally different story.

Although I am certainly no expert on 9-ball, I've played it enough and been spotted enough to have an opinion. For those who think that a ball spot means absolutely nothing at this level, you're fooling yourself. With the strength of some of these guys breaks and their amazing ability to shoot combos and play caroms, I believe it definitely could have an influence in the outcome of things. It might not be enough to make a clear cut difference, but in certain situations it could keep the ball rolling for the guy receiving the spot. For example: spotted player has his break working well. During the beginning of a few racks strung together he breaks them perfect but the cue ball gets frozen to the backside of an object ball with an easy run out but no shot. With nowhere to hide on a pushout. He's about to give up control of the break (Easily the most important shot at this level) when lo and behold they notice he made his spot ball on the break. Yes, this is only 1 game but, now he is back in control of the break and the spotter realizes he just lost control of the break due to luck. This could conceivably piss him off and have a further affect on things. My guess is that a spot ball could go for quite sometime without playing a roll in things, but it could also rear its head a few games in a row. These are just my thoughts, but if the spot ball has an effect just once or twice in say 20 games, that is 5-10% and could lead to many more racks run from the break. Could matter...........

Sure, it COULD come into play mayb, 5-10% of the time. Any of these guys though who have their break working, could care less about that spot ball.

I heard Matlock say one time, anybody he could beat even, he could give the 7, as it just doesn't mean anything. If these guys get the break working on the toy table, they feel they can't be beaten.

spots at their level

anytime a spot is involved in a longer session it makes a difference.depending on how long they play it will have an effect.its kind of like casino odds if you play long enough you will see the difference.how big a difference varies.but it could be huge depending on how the balls roll.imo

BUt, how many times does the person getting the spot win. Not very often...

In some cases, really in most on a box, rolls can play a bigger part in the final outcome then a single ball spot. On the other hand if you get the breaks on a box you might want to play forever.

What does one think why people go off anyway? They get these sposts which sound too good to be true and in reality, if they had the fire power to win, they wouldn't need wieght like that anyway. Most who lose getting big spots don't know enough about the game handicap themselves anyway. They fool thenmselves right into a trap.
