There is a banking angle app now for your phone. Fine to practice with, not during play. Same thing?

If someone needs to refer to an app as to how to shoot their shot lol lol go for it - matter of fact, bet it up pleeeeeeease ! If this is league , well then......... I'll leave it to yall leaguers to sort it out lol😆

One last thought; notes , phones, etc - all seem to be crutches . From the beginning of time " pool players " have made mental notes of pool rooms, tables, etc. Players shortcomings , backer tendacies, and on and on. It was always mental notes and always worked. Not to say that there are those " blackbooks" out there cause for sure there are. But in this case it seems like we are talking about league so as far as I can tell, what the hell?. The player will win most times regardless of the "other stuff ". And if it makes them happy, why not?

If a player needs to use notes during a game it obviously means more to him than it does to me.

That said, someone who uses notes or apps will not possibly be a quick enough shooter for me to have any desire to play him.

But, I also think that pool should have a mandatory 30sec shot clock with very few extensions.

Another rules question if you please. Is there a stated rule about cell phones being used during a match or just a common courtesy thing. I ask that ringers be off during play, obviously, but some people can't stop checking there phone or posting something. I realize they are responsible for paying attention but is there an official BCAPL position?

I tell my son to get off his phone when we are playing in a tournament. A. he needs to be paying attention to the match for possible issues and what to do if the opponent misses or plays a safe and B. It's rude to the opponent. If I was playing someone I don't want to be thinking that this match meant so little to them or that my game was so weak that they could sit on their phone and then just hop to the table.

Don't know if the looking at notes is in the rules as such, but I would classify it under the same rule as not allowing practice during a match or outside coaching.

Remember that time that I think Dennis O got a foul called on him for doing a jump shot on another table or doing some practice strokes on another table? Or maybe that was a warning then. Either way, looking at notes (pertaining to pool that is) sounds like practice to me.
