Refinishing a cue difficult?.

I have a SE 11 Predator Cue that has quite a few little nicks here, and there on the butt. I figured I would just get the finish redone but I was wondering if this is a difficult thing to do for an average custom cue maker, or repair man.

Maybe I should just send it back to Predator/Mezz to get them to refinish it?. I want it looking exactly the way I bought it. Im just scared if I give it to someone to refinish that it's going to look extremely bad.

Also what is this stuff called, and how is it applied to the cue if you don't mind me asking :D. I just like to have a basic understanding of certain things before I hand over a $1000+ dollar cue to someone :)

PS Here is a picture I found of it on the internet. It is a wrapless cue. http://www.hawleys.com/pred/SE11.htm

Give Don Broos a call. He will be able to help you out and he is in your part of the country. Most cues are sprayed with an automotive clear coat. Depending on the wood it can take from 3 or 4 coats to 10 to 15 for purpleheart. Don does good work.

Yeah I was gona go to Don Bros but I just don't want to get the cue back and all of a sudden it looks really dull or the finish looks really thick. Just paranoid I guess LOL.

My fault in the first place for banging it up, sometimes its just unavoidable.

Contact Ryan from Ratcues, he does great work, and he is also a member of this forum.

Take care!!
