Jae Cho and Andrew Janquitto have made their arrangements to play in the Qualifier. Come by and play with some of the best...

Why in the world would the USBA allow there to be two qualifiers in the same region in the same month? Anyone? This non-sense does get pretty tiring. I've spent a lot of time, energy, and my own money trying to promote a qualifier in Savannah, GA. You know it's not an easy thing to do, but not only has the USBA undermined my event, but the players themselves, as well. If Doral had announced a qualifier, I would definetly not try to compete with them. In fact, I would likely have joined their qualifier and probably brought an extra player or two with me. However, I can see a little bit better how these things work now. Oh yes, I'm pretty angry. Maybe I shouldn't be, but this sort of attitude seems to be fully consistant with the organization. Always doing their best to alienate the membership! I just can't believe it. Doral Billiards knew fully well that we were trying to organize a qualifier here, and also the USBA. NOt only were there several announcements, but I even sent them a letter in the mail to see if any of their players might like to play in it. Anyway, rant over, for now.

We have a great local tournament every month, with a great bunch of players. I have that to look forward to......maybe someday, we'll try to associate ourselves with the USBA again.....

Tiger,

I think your a little out of line about the USBA. Get a life.

Thanks for your input, Crappie. I'd love to hear why you think that I'm out of line, and how this action could be considered the right thing to do. Or are you just trying to stir the pot? I'm ready to discuss....btw, who are you?

I don't think Jamie's frustration is unwarranted at all.

The beautiful game is having a tough enough time maintaining the little popularity is has in its current state.

Competition for attendance is a horrid and unnecessary thing to impose. Events are few and far between, scheduling events in a complimentary, rather than competitive manner should be a no-brainer.

usba president has been trying to help make this tournament happen. so, I'm leaving it open. However, I still would need a couple more entrants.

We're looking forward to having a successful first USBA tournament here in Savannah. I currently have enough pre-paid entries to hold the tournament.

I will try to do my usual unprofessional streaming, on at least one table for the tournament this weekend. The other table will be recorded and posted after the tournament.
