Regular tip for a Jump Cue

I’ve seen pros get a lot of action on their jumps. Especially with draw so I’m curious what types of tips (other than phenolic) do they use to get the desired draw action!!!

I’m assuming a hard tip but maybe a soft for some. Any suggestions and/or links would be greatly appreciated 👍👍

On the slick (new) cloth they play on and the accurate cue power they possess, I'm sure they're getting it with the stock phenolic tip. I'm just a lowly bar banger and I can draw the cue back on a jump, albeit not as much draw as they can achieve, especially with pin point precision.

Nobody else?
Check out Water buffalo WB the black ones, or check out the " Super pro tips" red layered water buffalo tips. Only thing about the super pro's is last few I got weren't as hard as the originals that I had. Also heard great things about sumo tips and guy on here that goes by madman hard tips.

I personally use white diamond, and it don't break the bank....

I see that the Air Rush by Predator has a leather tip on it. Anyone got any info on that? I looked and found nothing

The answer is not in the tip they use, it lies in the hours and hours they have spent honing their jumping skills.

A reasonably hard leather tip probably gives the best compromise between jumping ability and ability to put larger amounts of english on the ball while jumping.

It isn't hard to get good english action on the cue ball during jump shots, just put more english on the ball just like you would need to do with any other shot you would be hitting with a level cue. For example, if you have been trying to draw back after a jump but haven't been able to, you probably need to hit lower on the cue ball.

To maximize the effect of back spin after contact with the object ball it also helps to try to hit the object ball more flush, as in timing the cue ball to hit the object ball and table at the same time rather than catching the object ball at a more glancing angle coming down or going up.

Used a break cue with a Bulletproof tip last night This tip seemed a bit softer than the phenolic tips that I’m currently using. I liked it. Anyone here try this tip and any opinions?

My local pool hall (bar) has restricted space and there are corners where shorter than normal cues (or extreme cue angles) are required.

I can get nearly as much draw and nearly as much follow using my jump cue as a short stick (flat to the bed of the table). It has to be well chalked and the CB must be deliberately stroked, but the the phenolic tip still delivers the CB with the desired spin.

I have given a though of buying a second jump cue and putting on a normal (H) tip on it for these purposes, but the phenolic tip works well enough, and the prices of the cheap cues has gone way up, dissuading me from this end.

Been using the Bulletproof tip on my break/jump cue for a couple months now and love it. Had a Samsara tip for years before I switched. The Bulletproof seems like it falls right in between the Samsara and a phenolic tip as far as hardness goes. Holds chalk just as good if not better than the Samsara though. Jumps a lot better than the Samsara too.
