Relations/Your Forum Name

When I first started playing pool, a player could not remember my name (Billy) and kept calling me Bob. Then with time sometimes this player would call me Billy or Bob - could not get it right. Then later it became "Billy, Bob or whatever your name is". So I started writing my name on the board (to sign up for the next game on the table) as Billy Bob. And I have been called Billy Bob ever since.

Also this name seems to irritate certain "High Society" people on the internet, so that makes me like the name even more!:D

My favorite is Iron Chef Sakai. I also like Morimoto.
 
I've missed soooooooooo many 9-balls in my life that I felt this was kind of appropriate. The funny thing is I don't seem to miss near as many 8-balls.:)

How disappointing Fred and here I thought you were referring to a time in the past when you were a cornerman for an up and coming boxer whose real name we would immediately recognize. :D

Now for another boring story... when I first started on this forum I wanted to remain anonymous while I felt my way around and besides aliases seemed to be the standard. So I thought for a while and came up with "Catscradle" because Kurt Vonnegut (particularly his early work) is one of my favorite authors. The book "Catscradle" was one of his earlier works.
I told you it was boring.
Over on RSB I still use my real name of Steve Ellis and I have that id here also. However, I'm not sure I even remember the password. Maybe I'll go try it now and see if I have any messages. :rolleyes:

Although the Iron Chef America show pales in comparison, I'll take Cat Cora....any day.

I have been riding my own on and off since 1977. I love motorcycles, almost as much as I love pool.;) I used to own the patch that is featured as my current avatar...sold it last year for 250.00! If you find one like it, it's worth a mint now.

You need a deck hand? I had a 30' Pacific Seacraft - Orion for a few years and then the kids started coming. Damned!!
 
I first encountered Scaramouche, an Italian novel written by Rafael Sabatini, in Mechanix Illustrated.

Way back, the magazine's car tester had a Labrador Retriever named Joe. Joe was a working dog who assisted in testing by jumping into the trunk to give an indication of capacity.

When Joe died, the editor wrote a memorial, noting that Joe and Scaramouche had the same outlook on the world.

"He was born with the gift of laughter, and a sense that the world was mad."

The proper attitude to have when reading this forum or tangling with pool players. :D
 
J - Jeff; NAV - 28-year lifer in the Navy; 447 - born in APR 47. Shoulda been more creative, but too stubborn to change now. My favorite is SMORGASS BORED - love that one.
 
I thought mine was pretty clever...my mom married my dad...that's how I got the Rousey part. Then they thought up such a unique name that only millions upon millions of other people have...Sarah.

The only other ones I use are just as original SRpool...my initials and pool. Or SRpool9....my initials, pool, and my favorite number/month I was born.

I'm not very creative.

Why Blowfish.....

I just love the look of the Fugo fish. I've used the handle since time in memorial and have been hi-jacked in various IRC Networks, but not in this sort of forums.

The avatar, it's pretty obvious, I love them. When I was young, I said to myself, "That will be my first and only car.". This I got 5 yrs ago as a gift, that is to myself.
 
Bank (shots) are open 24 hours. I have a decent eye for bank shots and some luck,lol.
