So I just got an e-flyer for US qualifier for the World 10-Ball Championships. It will be in Mountain View at the California Billiard Club, Sept. 6-7. It's only a $50 entry. The winner will get 20% of the cash entries plus $2000 for travel to the Philippines. After poking around, I noticed that this was previously announced, and there is another qualifier at Magoo's in Oklahoma. For more info, see: http://www.azbilliards.com/2000storya.php?storynum=5518 or http://home.bca-pool.com/associations/7744/files/BCA_WPA10-BallQualifiers_July2008.pdf

I spoke to the president of the WPA only three days ago and he informed me that it is definitely on.
There are at least 30+ European players going.

I hope so, I bought my plane ticket. I may just get to do some commentary there, and see a few old (and some not so old) friends.
P.S. Quite a few of the top American players will be there. At least a dozen last I heard.
