Removed rail counters

I got tired of dinging my cues on the rail counters so I took them off. Anyone ever make an insert or a box to fill these holes in? Any ideas?

I got tired of dinging my cues and changing my shot on my ball counters so I removed the entire Gold Crown and replaced it with a Diamond box to fill the hole left by it.

Just a idea, what about taking the score counter out cutting or trimming it to fit inside the hole snug. If it's very slightly recessed in the hole or counter sinked it can't ding your cue and the eyesore of a hole is still covered up.

I had a guy buy a spare GC rail from me. He used it to cut out pieces just big enough to fit in counter holes. Came out pretty good but I lost the pictures.

I like the idea of counter sinking the badge and counters. I was going to do it on mine but ran out of time, I have little patience. Will do it at next recover.

I am interested to try.

that was the last table I restored, it GC4 so it did not have the counters. We removed the stock formica and put on new matte black laminate & inlaid new MOP sights. I never thought of removing the counters on the earlier models and plugging the holes when we re-veneered or laminated them! Countersinking them is a great idea as well for those who are not replacing the surface & inlays and the other situation as well!

I ended up covering a piece of cardboard with leather and putting that a chalks height down into the hole. Then lined the side with another long strip of leather and presto, nice little leather boxes. I tried cork at first but it was messy
