Reno Open in December

Just keep in mind that one of the best resturants on earth is in Reno.

"Bricks" is awesome!!

I just hope they are still there.

Where is that restaurant?

If you Google Brick's Restaurant in Reno, Nevada, it will give you an address of 1695 S. Virginia St. (near Plumb Lane).........It will also give you some reviews...

Exactly WHEN is the Reno open this year?

Sad that I can't get this information by googling it :-(

The reason I don't compete is #1 the prize $ is way top heavy, I think one yr. there I finished in the top 5% of the field and won $1,500.00, the eventual winner won $15,000.00 wow that got my attention. The 2nd reason is cause I don't care for the soft break and racking your own rack promotes this kind of redundant trick shot - rack mechanic play. I do see however that Corey Harper is playing well and Stevie Moore also, I wish them the best. I also hope that the tournament continues to hold up even if it is soft break rack your own. If this is what players enjoy playing and fans enjoy watching then have at it, it's amazing how they all make that corner ball.

If anyone wants to learn how to cheat on the rack when playing rack your own then I would be happy to give you my take on it as it's not rocket science.

I remember going there in 85 until around 89, it was a big time tournment, I didnt go for many years until last year, it was nothing compaired to what it was, Danny is partially right, but the main reason is pool is dead, thanks to poker, etc. same old song...:frown:

Ohh Hi fatboy, I thought that what John said was kind of funny about the Goat and all. It does however give him an excuse so that he decides not to play the rematch, I like mustard on my biscuits mmhmm. We often are afraid of what we don't understand so since there is no way of figuring everything out about the way another person thinks we make up an excuse to not like that person. Before John and I were to play our 2nd rematch he said at the end of our phone conversation " I heard you ran 280 and caught it on tape." I said, yes that I had - to which he replied don't beat my 400 *****(female dog), I have learned to forgive him cause I guess that he thinks this kind of talk is ok.

When I asked him why he would speak to me that way he acted like we were old friends and said he thought we had even roomed together at a tournament, I told him that we had never roomed together and did not appreciate being talked to in such a beligerent manner. He banged into my cue and did not say excuse me in our last match, all I can say is I don't think John would get the biscuits playing me right now MMhmm. There has never been any $ in pool, if this is his main motivation for playing then he is fishing in a dry river. I play for the little $ that IS out there and the thrill of competion also I do think I have some heart, if John ever reads this post remember one thing jingle heimer Schmidt "OZ never did give nothin' to the tin man that he did'nt didn't already have." (America)

Sincerely, Danny Harriman

I have a few friends that would like to stake me to play John a set for twenty thousand, he could even play in Reno if he liked competing in dry weather conditions. When I beat him the first time he said he was just getting used to his new cue, even though he had just run 400 balls with it. The last time we played my ferrule cracked on the end of the One Pocket, I think I have a cue now that has a stronger ferrule, John simply plays for the $ not the thrill of battle. I'm sure he is like you Charleyufarley he would rather have a bunch of friends than go into battle and take a free shot at winning the cash. Like he said so eloquently he might get embarrased and or humiliated, and no charley my friends do not call me ***** when conversing and even joking.

We both won one set and Tar offered John boy a free $1,000 just to have me fly to his hometable and play which he refused, as he stated in an earlier post I guess that $1,000 is not enough to cover the possible humiliation factor. I though he had a little more fire in him, do not be fooled by his excuses any player than turns down a chance to play for twenty thousand is simply scared stiff. I would be willing to play Mr. straight pool as he calls himself a set of 14.1 for all the cash but I am sure he will dodge this offer also.

Ahhh, this is a familiar come on....

I guess this is what they call woofing.....It brings back memories of the old pool hall days when I spent a lot of time gambling and watching pool hall gamblers woofing at each other......One of the best comebacks I ever heard was when somebody said they needed more weight, the backer wasn't there, or any other excuse; was when the other guy said, "What you really need, is a heart transplant." LOL

Danny, I'm not doubting your ability or heart on the pool table. I do think you are being WAY too sensitive about being called a b***h. It is very common among male friends to talk that way....I'm sure it was meant in a joking manner, especially in the context in which it was said.

What isn't so common is your reaction. "I don't appreciate being spoken to so beligerently"??? Really?

You'll need to sack up a bit. This is pool.

John Schmidt is the one who needs to sack up a bit, he has many moves but I think his best move is ducking me, good luck in your world charley with what you think is socially acceptable speech edicate. John as we get older they say we will shrink, this way you don't have to duck so low when while ducking our rematch. John Schmidt can get it on for twenty large when he gaets that heart transplant. Wahcheck knows I will play as I have cue and will travel, thanks for the support wahcheck.

Did I accidentally switch threads? I was enjoying reading about Reno and then it suddenly turned into another Danny Harriman complaint session. Danny, do you need help learning how to start a new thread?
