Replace linen wrap with leather?

Is it possible to do, and still come out correct, or is the cut for the existing linen the wrong depth. Cue in question is a Carmeli.

Thanks, It's just a cue that i have been looking at, but have not seriously considered it due to the linen wrap. I guess next question would be an apx cost to have this done. I am not interested in highly textured leather wraps, but like the smooth to finely textured ones. I also like no wrap also. I am looking for a new cue that interests me, and have a few brands in mind, but I was just wondering if it would be possible if I saw a cue that I really liked except for the wrap. I am not an impatient person, and have no problem waiting till I find one that I like, but do not care to wait 2 years or so, to have one made.

Ariel's wrap channel depth is usually cut to near .023 which is generally the thickness range of the standard cue wraps I sell to him and others. The work is no problem at all for the competent cuemakers and repair guys. Smooth leather requires a bit more care with the installation than textured leather wraps. Good luck!

Make sure the leather you choose has the right tack for your grip. I sold my custom ordered 1976 Zamboti a couple years after I got it because the leather was too slick/slippery. That was my fault.

Another option is to put a finish over the linen, or replace it first, then finish it.
