Replacement ferrule for southwest cue

Pool Hall Paul

Let em bank !
Could someone please tell me a good replacement ferrule for a southwest cue with a little softer hit and one that will stay clean. I also need to know tenon size and configuration. Thank you. Paul

I would send the shaft to SW and talk to Al. By having somebody else do the job, you're messing with the originality and playability of the cue. Ferrule replaced at SW is cheap.

if you are looking for something softer,i would assume that LBM is what you have originally.i have some new yellow micarta that has a softer hit than the LBM.it also polishes well and stays clean.

almost any cue repair man would have zero trouble installing a new ferrule on a SW.their tenon is 5/16.

Every one that I have ever worked on was 3/8 un-threaded and capped.

i just did one last week that was 5/16,but i guess it could have been modified at some point.it was an older SW.maybe 1982 or so.
