Replacing floating rail nuts - gold crown 3

Other than counter sinking some wood screw mounted nut plates and using short rail bolts, because normal length rail bolts are going to run up against the capture nuts already in the rails, no, not that don't require removing the rail cloth and cushions. Once the factory cushions have been removed, they're not going to remount correctly as most of them come off ripping either the back canvas off, or removing wood with them.
I am having a hard time tracking down the nut plates online and locally. The ones I have found are either too small or the wrong type. Could you point me in the right direction? Or sell me some if you have them to sell.

Maybe I am not searching for the right name. I have tried nut plate, rail nut plate, wood screw mounted nut plate, checked all of the pool Web pages I can think of and even took the picture from here to the local home depot:

I reached out to the guys who run that site too.

I found the domed washers on meullers but just can't seem to find the correct nut plate.

I ended up getting threaded inserts for this.

**edit, i am an idiot and thought it was softwood under the rails. It is hardwood. I emailed brunswick. **

Do any of you know the type of wood? I Want to go buy some to test installing the inserts before installing in the table.

So follow up - I found what the rattling noise was that led me to look at the rail bolts in the first place.

One of the inserts in the rail that the pockets bolt into had pulled out completely and the washers were rattling. Have any of you fixed these before? Would epoxy and the same insert work? If I use another insert it will have to be larger. Not sure if you can get a larger one with the same bolt pattern

Just wanted to say thanks again for all of the help. I finished the job tonight and am very happy with the results.

Pretty pissed about the crappy job the mechanic did. Not only were there 4 spinning rail bolts, there were 3 inserts for attaching the pocket castings loose and 2 of the brackets that hold the skirt in the corners had no screws on one side so there was nothing holding it together.

All an all it was a great learning experience.

Glad you got it somewhat fixed, welcome to the aftermath of, not all, but most of the mechanic work done on pool tables;)
