Replacing Ivory Ferrules

If the ferrules have already been replaced I doubt that the original threads are as made.

Paul Rubino purchased a few ferrules from Ernie and Ernie included a die for the tenon. Paul said the threads are very different from the norm.

I am just curious, if you happen to know the answer: were they just "different" or were they like one-of-a-kind custom-designed tamper-proof you ain't never going to be able to duplicate this sucker kinda different?

Maybe you could just buy 3 ferrules from Ernie, and make sure the cue repairman that you use knows how to save the threads on the tenons.

I don't think Ernie would sell his ferrules threaded.

I wonder how much those ferrules with the tap cost.

I was just going off the info that classiccues offered above. He said Ernie included a tenon die, not a tap.

if you got joe b to do it at the DCC he could replace the tenon.

he does good work.

i wouldnt recommend doing this but its a option.

only if you HAD to have it done.

i would send to back to ernie
