Replacing pechauer butt caps

OK, I feel silly for asking this but is the trick to putting the butt caps back on?

It popped off easily enough but I am struggling to get it back in all the way.

It is one of the ones that is shaped like a smooth cork with the bottom being larger than the top.

Sorry, yes the bumper. I should not post before I am fully awake.

Yes, the bumper, and it is press fit.

I just can't get it to all the way back on.

Hi,
Moisten it with a little saliva then press it in and turn it a bit clockwise. should go on pretty easily.
If doesn't work at first use more spit and twist harder.

Just so we're all on the same page, a butt cap is the plastic/composite part glued to the back-end of the cue and it's typically not designed to come off. The bumper, which is at the very end, is made of rubber. They're usually either held with a screw, threaded in or press fit.

It sounds like you're describing the bumper. On your cue it should be a press fit.

Not to derail this post, but do you know what kind of wood the butt of that cue is made of?

I have a Titlist with a butt, cap, and bumper that is almost an EXACT twin of what this picture looks like.

The wood looks to be the same color and grain as mine.

Thanks all. I will try moistening it before sticking it in. Seems there is a variety of options for how to do that :)
