I need to replace my dead rails. It's driving me nuts. The problem is that my table is an odd size. It's an old FW table and I think its around 7.5 feet because it's bigger than a bar box but not quite an 8 footer. My first question would be from what point to what point do I measure to get the size of the table. And then, assuming it's a 7.5 ft table, is it possible to get replacement rails for an odd table size like that? Where would I go about looking? Will it be expensive? I only paid 300 for the table in the first place.

If it's the length you are worried about, I wouldn't. Somebody correct me if I am wrong, but once you buy new rails, don't they get cut down anyway? I bought some new rails off ebay for my gold crown and I am almost certain that they were at least 4" longer than they needed to be, but I could be wrong. If this is the case, just buy some rails for an 8' table.
Is there a certain kind that is good or just anything? At this point I could fill the rail with rice crispies and the cue ball would get more action off it.
I found this for $50.00 which is cheap in my mind. I was expecting a couple hundred.

Cushions come in either a 43" or 47" length.
Besides the cushions you also need the cushion facings.
The preferred adhesive is 3M-10 Scotchgrip.
You will likely need new cloth for the rails once you replace the cushions
as the rail cloth is usually not salvageable or large enough to reuse.
The 43" should work for you however you need to know the cushion profile.
(typically K66, K55 or U23)
The best way to check is peel off part of the cushion rubber and measure
the back surface that was glued to the subrail.
K55 will be slightly over 1 1/4", K66 is a hair over 1 1/8" and U23 is right at 1"

39" = 7' table, 44" = 8' table, 46" = 8' Oversize (Pro 8), 50" = 9' table.

Deciding what cushions to go with is a whole another thread. I would do as somebody else mentioned, check with a local mechanic. You might be able to save some money purchasing them sepertely yourself, but you might get the wrong ones. You must know the profile of the ones you have now.
